Oh yes for sure. It should be standard equipment. Who's dumb idea was it to leave out the cup holders anyway?

Cup holders don't work to well when you're inverted. I guess you need a gimbal cup  holder to keep the contents in.

Just do a barrel roll. It's a 1g positive maneuver all the way round. Bob Hoover used to pour a cup of iced tea while rolling a Shrike Commander. Look it up on YouTube. He was amazing.

The Dash 80/707 needed positive Gravity to function correctly however that didn't prevent it from being barrel rolled. I also heard about a Lear jet with a wine glass on the center console while being inverted.

I read Tex Johnston's book. The boss called him into his office and yelled, "What the Hell did you think you were doing?" He answered, "Selling airplanes!"

Yup! I used to watch Bob Hoover do that very maneuver in his Shrike Commander when the Simi Valley airport was still open. He would even do that with both engines feathered. He called it energy management. He flew in every one of our airshows.

Clay Lacy used to land his purple "Omni" P-51 Mustang on that tiny airport (2300ft runway?) before the crowds showed up. Then he would take off and put on a great performance during the show. All were 1g positive maneuvers.

I remember watching Bob Hoover's energy management demo.  He feathered both engines and shut them off.  Then he proceeded to do a loop upwind, a turn, a barrel roll downwind, turn final, land, taxi to the ramp and park in his assigned parking spot, all without restarting the engines.

Yay!!! I got my name and gender changed on my airmen's certificate this morning. It was painless. I had a lovely 30 minute chat with the FAA folks at the VNY FSDO. They even helped with my lost logbook.

I need to visit CMA where I did my flight training to see about recovering all my endorsements. The originals were lost in a fire. The hard part will be convincing an FAA certified physician that I'm healthy. They don't like very many blips in the medical records, at least not back then.

So that should be the last item I needed to change. I think I've covered all the name and gender change bases

Be careful about the medical, hon. Gender dysphoria is a disqualifying condition. It's why I'm flying as a sport pilot with my drivers license as my medical. http://transgenderpilots.org

Thanks Stephanie! That's good to know. Yes we both have a mutual friend that flies under the very same umbrella. I'm sure I couldn't pass the physical any more so the sport umbrella it is. That's ok because there are lots of production aircraft that fall under the light aircraft rule. I'm a taildragger now so I won't miss flying my favorite Piper Archer.

Well, 30 days and counting till F day. It's getting close and I'm starting to feel a bit more anxious. My pre-op appointment with the Kaiser facial team is the 14th of June, which leaves less than a week to get everything done before surgery.

I did my lab work yesterday for my visit with my Endo next week. They already came in and the results are all good. (E = 192 pg/ml and T = 9 ng/dl.)

My pilots licenses name and gender change is come along gracefully. I have my temp certificate in hand and my PPL card will be here some time in September. It could be here sooner. Yes the FAA is (believe it or not) faster and much easier to deal with than the rest of our government.

That's all for now. I'll start my FFS thread some time after my pre-op visit.
