Ok so I have my last consultation for grs on September 27. Nearly a year of waiting and everything else I finally am here. I would like to say the wait will only be 5-8 months long or so,!basically what I was told back in January.

I just have some question for anyone who can help. One, how much time should I book off from work? I am a night time line cook at a casino and am getting 40 hours a week (and soon 48 hrs because my other cook left last night). I am budgeting what I can to makenhownever long I need off coastable.

Two, sexual stimulation. I rarely get the feeling to be sexual. But there are times I really want to be (maybe once or twice a month?). I have found out , through some mild intimacy with girlfriend I love the full blown feelings you feel during those moments from butterflies and a passionate feeling. I probably would love organisms too if I didn't have a penis or what White clear liquid come out of the birth gentials. It was the one thing that killed the moment, was feeling the birth gentials inflate even the slightest bit. Is sex better in terms of feelings after grs or does sex drive /romantically passion in all forms go away?

Three, what should I bring with me to keep me not bored during the 7 or so days in recovery?

Any advice be appreciated :) thanks

It would be best to plan for 6 week off if possible but you should have at least 4 weeks. Once the doctor permits it, you need to walk and move around to build your strength back up. If you lay on your back during recovery you may find you lack the strength to preform your job.

As for what to take, it's best to take something that doesn't require concentration. Possibly games on a laptop, reading material and music/videos. Where your going, you will be able to socialize with others so whenever possible, take advantage of that.

If you do full time I would recommend 8 weeks rather than 6. It might be a while until you have full energy and are able to accomplish all you could have done in the past.

As far as sexual stimulation goes, I used to only have a sort of passing interest yet, after GCS I have been spending a great deal of time with a vibrator, as soon as I am confident in how healed I am I am going to be spending a lot of quality time with my partner. I thought maybe my T level was high without spiro but nope, 28 was my T level so idk maybe the fact orgasms seem so much better now or perhaps it really was just dysphoria that caused my libido to seem so low.

I brought my phone, a Kindle and a netbook, with the pain meds I probably didn't use them as much as I had expected to. The medication was so strong I could barely even read.

Thank you all for the tips and pointers. I guess any other question I wanted to ask but forgot about is how much money do you think I should have in the bank for my time of recovery?

I mean, that really depends on your bills. As for me outside of the normal bills (rent, insurance, grocieries, etc) I had to spend about $100 at the recovery house/hospital on various things mostly food and OTC medication away from home. I have probably spent another $100-150 on things like pads to protect the bed, maxipads then pantyliners, lube (I found a place I can buy it by the case!), OTC medication, etc.

I think planning on 2-2.5 months expenses plus a few hundred dollars would be a very reasonable amount. More if you have to pay for any sort of recovery center stay (mine was paid by insurance, some people had to pay out of pocket). there will almost certainly be some unexpected expenses in any trip, so it makes sense to err on the side of caution. Luckily for me the recovery house had most common things you would forget for free (i.e. toothbrushes, towels, etc) so I didn't have much in unexpected expenses.
