Hi everybody!

Just thought I'd do the decent, well-mannered thing and introduce myself.

My name is Simone. I'm late 20's, MtF just starting on the road to transition, and I live and work in London. Im from South Africa originally, but I've travelled ALOT over the past few years, and I've been in London for just over a year now.

I basically came to the UK as chance to get started with transition on a fresh page, so to speak, and though it's taken longer than I'd have liked, things have progressed quite well. I'm now getting to the point where I want to start putting myself out there, but I'm still very shy and stuff, so I was hoping this might prove a good place to make friends, get advice, and just chat to people who can relate to my situation.

Anyway, looking forward to lots of conversations with you all! Oh, and Happy New Year!

Simone

Hey,

Welcome to the boards. I hope you enjoy your stay. What's your definition of a lot? I've lived in 12 cities in 9 different countries...any yet there is still sooo much to see!

Peace and love,

Yeah....

Okay, you definitely trump me on the living part Isabelle... I've been running away from my TS status for about 5 years now by going to Taiwan to teach English (2 cities), then criss-crossing Southern Africa with a backpack (I reaaaaaaaaaaly liked Sean Penn's new movie...) (oh, 5 cities) and finally coming to the UK (only 2, so far) to deal with my transsexuality. I've moved around a lot, so I've been in many more cities than I've lived in for longer than a few weeks.

Hey,

Wasn't trying to trump anyone on anything here...was just curious about the places you've lived...I feel a kindship with others who are also lost souls that like to wander the world...

Peace and love,
Isabelle St-Pierre

;) No, I know... I was just giving a bit more detail about myself, 'cause I really like to get to know people, and you only get as good as you give...

BTW, see your status is "sick"... hope it's not too serious, and that you feel better real soon.

Oh..geeze. I've had this stupid cold for weeks now; was getting better and then the furnace went out yesterday. It's 15 degrees out side and in the 40s inside...thank god for electric blankets! Hopefully I'll get over it soon...thanks for asking!

Peace and love,

Hello, Amarant.

Nice name. *smile* I hope you enjoy your time at Susan's. It's a nice forum and if diversity appeals at all, you'll love it!

The things I have learned from people here in the six months or so I have been here are absolutely amazing.

I'm happy things are going well for you in UK. And I appreciate the value of travel and experiencing something other than one's own backyard, in spite of Thoreau's statement that: " I have traveled much in Concord."

Please become acquainted with the site rules: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html

Again, welcome.

Hey, Thanks Nichole.

Hopefully I can make some friends as well during my 6 month (and longer, if I don't get banned!) stay. If I managed to break any of the forum rules, please forgive ( and it would be cool if you could point them out, maybe...) If just for general interest, please ignore the paranoid preceding sentence... ;-)

That particular aspect of the welcome post is just so everyone gets a directional to those rules. Had I seen you breaking any I'd have pointed them out by PM. *smile*

So, post away. Hope this eases your paranoia! hahahaha

Hello, Amarant,

Welcome to Susan's!

You've already heard about the diversity of this place and the rules, so now something about people.  You'll find some of the nicest, most interesting and knowledgeable people there are here in this forum.  We have musicians, engineers, physicists, mathematicians, moms, dads, bartenders, and between-jobs, to mention a few.  There is also a lot of accumulated knowledge and experience here so feel free to tap into it and to share whatever you have.

With the exception of having been at sea in a prior existence, I have never been off the north American continent.  I left home when I was 18 and never looked back, but that's about it.

The best to you in 2008!

Hi All
Just a note to say glad to find this site. I was here when dirt was discovered or gave the Indians their first ham sandwich when they got here. Will pass along some more about myself as the comfort level increases...........t
