I love old westerns. I should have guessed this one right off. I didn't see the movie from 1973. I remember the newer movie from the 1990's. Your quote was not in the newer movie but there was a similar mention of old Bob that went:

"Hi Bob!,,,,,, By Bob!"

All three of them are great movies. I'll leave this as an additional clue and let someone else guess the movie ;D.

             Of course, Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid. It was in theaters only for a short time in '73 when, after disappearing for years, two DVD versions came out in 1990. Unsure why but just minor changes were made to beginning and end.

I was in High School Florida at the time and turns out my father casually knew Kris Kristofferson's father Lars Henry both were pilots for Pan American in the 50's.

The movie I was referring to was Young Guns. Well, Young Guns ll. Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Casey siemaszko among other great actors. Actually Charlie Sheen was not in the second movie.

Oops, I forgot Dermot Mulroney was also one of the Young Guns. He played Dirty Steve. Also in the Young Guns version, It was a dollar eighty. Billy leaned out of the upstairs jail house window and yelled as Hollinger ran across the street, "Hi Bob!,,,Bang,,, By Bob!,,, Best dollar eighty I ever spent".
