Rhinoplasty!

Hello all!

Quick update: I've been discharged from active duty after 11 years, and many experiences and people I'm grateful for. But YAY! I was so ready! So I'm now faced by exciting new ventures and a life of freedom!

So about the topic, I am scheduled to get my nose fixed on Nov 15 (very excited) through a very good surgeon who is local. My question is, I'll be about 10.5 months on HRT, which, I was originally planning on a year. I'm assuming the small gap won't make a huge difference. Of note, my nose was broken once and then fractured later. This happened about 26 years ago. Anyways, he is very confident he will be able to fix the damage and give me a more feminine slope. From anyone else who has had work done on their nose, what was your experience like? Did you have to have additional work done? And did HRT have an affect on your results, either negative or positive?

Congrats on getting out!!!  I still remember the day I got out.
I had a septoplasty while on hrt but I did not find it (hrt) had any impact on anything.  It healed great and I hope yours does, too.

I had my nose done 10 months after starting HRT, same time I had other work on my face and skull. 

Physical changes from MTF HRT include muscle reduction, and fat tends to increase or decrease around different areas of the body.  Changes to muscle and fat don't significantly affect the nose.  In other words, no worries.

Awesome! Thank you ladies! Figured it shouldn't, but I have read/seen a few cases where they had cartilage issues, but I'm pretty sure it was the practice and surgeon they had at the time.

I broke my nose at 3 years old.
I'm at a year on hrt and J don't think my nose changed with hrt, I'm not sure... I met with a well known ffs surgeon and he said there won't be changes for me on hrt.

I think a rhinoplasty is going to help. I'm in NYC and was wondering if your surgeon is here? And if they are could message me the info? I want someone that specializes in rhinoplasties only and that others recommend. Though I know you still haven't had your surgey yet.

I had rhinoplasty about a 18 months ago. I had nasal tip reduced and the nasal ridge shaved and straightened. It took about a year for the feeling to return and the swelling to go down, but once it did, the results were very satisfying. Just having a smaller nose is feminizing in a way.

The most important thing is to have the breathing passage ways restored.

I don't, sorry :/ I'm in SoCal. For me, my nose is the biggest thing on my face I know HRT cannot repair, so I found a very reputable nose surgeon near where I live.

Thank you for sharing. Yes, my situation is similar to yours I think, in that I need passage ways repaired and a shave /alighnment and tip reduction. Nose is a huge feature I think, or can be depending on each individuals layout. Darn European nose got me, and breaking it definitely didn't help. I think I'm going to feel much better after this is done.
