Tall, short, skinny, robust, etc .....
.....all of that is far less important that who we are "inside" and how we treat others.

You can be with all we tall women and be on a chair. You are very beautiful and are not looking gender difference but born women. Love is sent from Germany.

Thanks to all of you who replied. Lostinlonging captured it very well.

Embrace it and love it.

To be tall is the coolest way to be.

;)  8) Nowadays I certainly agree! Used to be, before I started, there were many restrictions on how "large" or "old" a woman could be . . . "During its heyday in the 1960s, there were strict requirements for stewardesses: They had to be at least 5-foot-2, weigh no more than 130 pounds, and retire by age 32. They couldn't be married or have children, either. As a result, most women averaged just 18 months on the job."

At 5'11" the best weight I could ever manage was 165lbs! Of course, weight restrictions were proportionate by height but when the roomier widebody aircraft came in the 70's everything changed with a much taller 6'1" becoming the max a longer/higher reach across center 4 seating and overhead bins on 747s being actually preferred.

Not for nothin' but with c-h-e-e-p pay, tight schedules and cattle-car loads that airlines now have don't feel anyone in their right mind would be a flight attendant today! Was traveling ABQ to Atlanta two weeks ago and, upon waking up to announcements, discovered all 190 of us got 'emergency landing' stuck in Memphis for 6 hours because the entire FA crew were sick?

lol A Boston based crew musta been one 'ell of a lay-over-party in ABQ last night!

Tower over the masses, and feel powerful. People will treat you with more respect if they can't physically look down on you.

I really like this thread as I am one of those over 6'+ girls (6'2" - 6'3" depending on who measures me...).  Still very much in the closet but taking steps to open that door and never look back.

Some days when I am down about my height, some little old lady really makes my day.  I'll be in a store or someplace and some little old lady needs something off a high shelf.  She looks at me and says "Wow, your tall.  Would you mind getting me ##### off of that shelf?".  So I reach up with no problem thinking "this sucks, why can't I be short like her or just a little taller than her...".  Her eyes light up and says "Honey, thank you so much.  I wish I had your height.  Be proud of what you have and have really a nice day.".  I was in shock and said no worries and have a nice day too.

How did she know?  She made my day.  I have had others ask me to do the same for them and always tell me that they would like my height or even a couple extra inches.  It makes me laugh when I feel bad about my height as I know that there is somebody that would kill to have what I have.

I love the skirt suits and dresses some stewardesses wear. That said, I've had varying experiences with airlines. I hate American. Delta has been the best for me. YMMV.

I think I am flexible in my height. Although my physical height is 6 feet (184 cm), people tend to think I am not so much tall when I sit. Actually, I am very tall in my generation born in the 1960s, but nowadays there many taller young Koreans here. When people recognize me as a man, they do not comment so much on my height. But for female, my height attracts all attention regardless of age, country or gender. Even at northern European airports, people pay attention to me, albeit so many taller ladies there. Kids are awed at my height, especially when I wear high heels. When I entered a public restroom in San Diego, USA a few years ago, an old woman blocked me, saying to me that I am very tall, but I was wearing sneakers. And at a Walmart store there, an old man spoke to me that I am very tall, but I was wearing flat sandals.

Here my friends and colleagues tend to comment I look 'cute' when I wear sneakers or flat sandals. My wearing high heels tend to overwhelm people, but sometimes I enjoy wearing high heels. Here usually tall women are from Russia, but even Russian women pay attention me in the street.

Without these photos, probably I could not realize how many people watch me behind in the street. My friends who walk together with me in the crowded street say that they were surprised that so many people watched me behind. Until they said this to me, I could not realize it.

Anyway, I can enjoy such attention, albeit some occasional mishaps.

Cheers,

barbie~~

I adore this photo! They are not even trying to be sneaky, just going "Whoa! Tall lady!"  :D

You always look great, barbie. You own who you are, and it shows. I wish I had your confidence.

Thanks for sharing <3

Probably the way you dress too. If you were more conservative in attire, you'd blend in more. Not a judgement per se on my part, just a little realism. My therapist has told me he's had clients that wore fishnets etc and didn't like the attention they got. With them, there was a disconnect until he pointed it out.

my 6ft 3.5inch tall athletic frame has always been my biggest hindrance. it was the biggest reason that gave me pause. not many people taller than me.

however i have come to accept it, and beginning to own it where ever i go. my height aint going anywhere. i prefer to wear jeans etc.. i guess that comes from growing up in the late 80s early 90s and for me far more comfortable. and no i dont have any popping going on, the tuck stays tucked with gaffs and no tape :)

tho when i dress up with 2inch heels and micro mini skirt etc, people envy my legs, cause they go on forever :)

I was 6'41/2" when I started HRT Two years later, I'm 6'3". I was self conscious by myself but with a group I am much more self confident. I feel all the eyes are not focused on me. Also the fact I have lost 100 lbs. Helps alot  Mainly because I don't have to shop at the polyester   heavy lady stores. I fit nicely into a fashionable size 14. I bought size 16 a few months ago but since have lost another 30 lbs due to a swallowing problem. Confidence has so much to do with your acceptance. For instance I can walk the streets of Seattle's Capital Hill and not feel self conscious at all. It's all in our head. If you think you look good that confidence shines through.

:)  ;D  ;) Retired DAL @ 52 (twenty years late?) but Pan American is where my true love & loyalty lie!

Been again attending a very unconventional church just 'round the corner and getting plenty of hugs. Long-time pastor and wife (very tall) know of my history via 'ex' past attempts at public humiliation and yet seem totally *unfazed* VM you look *great* if had your breasts don't think I'd be attending the Wednesday men's study group anymore!

lol Am I trying to "convert" them? Convince 'em "gay" is a non-answer? That masculinity without at least a touch of femininity tends to be *toxic* . . . All things considered, is it THEY who are actively trying to "save" me?

Sorry for sidetrack ramble *dysphoria level* seems very *high* (tall?) of late seems the rest of the world's *gone mad* and I the only sane one left? Big sister wants us to get-a-way to Virgin Islands couple of days does anyone here know if St Thomas is functional?

Oh.  Thanks, Anastasia. Yes. My problem is that I am too much confident, sometimes shameless.

Yes. My family, friends and colleagues tend to say exactly the same. They recommend me knee-high A-type skirts, but I stick to miniskirts. I usually wear clothes for teens, but my friends recommend those for at least the 30s. But I do not wear heavy makeup. I avoid foundation and powder, but wear just sun cream everyday.

My male friends do not like my wearing high heels. They just wonder why I wear high heels despite my tallness. I reply it is to make my legs look slim.

Anyway thanks for your advice on my fashion.

Cheers,

I remember you mentioning being born in the 60's. We are the same age group, I am also tall and skinny and my female alter is generally taken to be in her late 30's. It's hard to resist the temptation to dress like a teenager when you actually look as good as we both do at our age. You dress very chic, Barbie, never trashy or provocative. And that is never out of place.

It's not my sandbox and I was just positing the obvious. Do as you will, no real problem, but we each have our wants. I rather blend in, be a gray man or woman.

OK now.  All of you tall girls look so very beautiful and there are certainly good things to be said about being a taller female.... and then wearing your high heels....

I am only (barely 5'4") so I would need a step-stool to be able to look you in the eyes.   Fortunately, tall or short, we are all attractive in our own way....  plus there are plenty of possible romantic interests that don't care one way or the other....   it is more about who we are and our personality, than it is about how tall we are.

I love all the wonderful photos that are being posted here... the most recent submissions:.....

@barbie ... you always look beautiful in your various photos that you post around the forums.

Being tall has great benefits and not only in the relationships but in corporations. It is proven that taller people gain promotions faster and make more money on average. I may be a bit bitter with my work experience because I was able to do the job, but often never got the title or pay. Being 5'5" tall and gender fluid did not do me any favors in that regard.

Being tall does not make someone unattractive.

true, just like the shoes we cant wear.. sobb and like where the heck do i find cloths long enough. my cis sister and i have the exact same leg length and inner seam length of 38inchs.. makes finding clothes tough

however the little known problems from being tall (i had rapid growth and grew 1ft in 6months in my 13th year of life - ouch), I have scoliosis of the upper spine, scheuermann's disease  (hell of a treatment scheme growing up) and well random muscle spasms in the back, and the oh so lovely intercostal muscle spasms. that later two still affect me occasionally particularly under high personal stress. randomly collapsing due to intense pain and the muscles in your back spasming is like oh soo much fun and the looks. the intercostal spasms gen left me totally breathless, passed out once from it (been decades tho since i passed out from it)..
