Hi everybody!
My name is Chester and I'm 62, and just starting my ftm transition! I get my first shot this Wednesday!
I grew up in the 50's and 60's so I didn't even know the word "lesbian" until I was in college! All I knew was I was a tomboy, and liked girls better than boys. So when I finally moved away from home and was free to read Ms. Magazine, I found the ads in the back for lesbian publications and came out. I had a traditional corporate job, so I felt a bit stifled in totally being the way I wanted to, but after-hours I partied and loved women hard. In my 40s I finally settled down, met a nice woman, and we had one child, a daughter, who is now 19 and moving out on her own in a couple weeks.
My wife and daughter kind of knew I was trans well before I did. I had never even thought about it until someone I follow on Twitter came out and it just kind of struck me like a lightning bolt. Once I told my family, they have been pretty much 100% supportive, although with some reservations of course. Their main focus is my happiness. I don't know how I got so lucky!
So here I am, just starting out, a 62 year old teenage boy. I'm sure you all will bear with me....
