I both knowingly and unknowingly do it.
Here is a few examples of knowingly messing with my hair.

Knowingly the hair has been prepared with heat sprays to straighten or curl hair, or damp hair to set loose waves, or damp plaits to wear as a style for the day with the added benefit of providing tight kinks and curls for the style of the next day.
Knowingly the hair is prepared and protected. And playing with the hair causes minimal harm
Unknowingly, especially at work when my nervousness heightens on certain calls I will twist and kink my hair into tight knots. This does plenty harm.
Or combing it in a rush also can cause damage.
Nervous hair pulling is no good. And rushing hair care like brushing or drying hair can also cause alot of harm.
Be kind to your hair. I find my hair to be a very important aspect of my being. Knowing it was always there and just waiting to grow it out kept me sane and away from the rope when I had to be a man
I look after mine quite well now in thanks for what it got me through 💕
