I'm blunt, forgive me. So the long story made short is that I'm nonbinary, bigender to be specific. The reason I identify this way is because my dysphoria regarding my genitals is that I don't have both a penis and vagina. My first experience in being trans was being an extremely confused 9 year old not understanding why I didn't have both. Otherwise I'm just an MTF tomboy I guess. To the point, is there any options out there for both. Part of the colon can be used instead of penile inversion to create a vagina, so that's not a problem. Is it just an issue of convincing a surgeon to do this? Or has anyone ever heard of this being done? Or am I doomed to live forever with this one way or the other?

Hi Dabria 🙋‍♀️ Welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm Jessica.
I entirely understand your feelings since I too dreamed at one point having both.  This stems from the feeling that I am both genders on a sliding scale between the two.  Maybe you can relate to that, but everyone is different.  There is the thought of Non-Binary (NB) or Gender Fluid involved.
As far as any surgeon doing this for you, I believe the chances are nil.

I see you're new here, so I'll post some links that may help you get better acquainted with the site. Pay attention to the site rules they can be of great help and don't forget the link highlighted red.  It has answers to questions that are commonly asked.  Then join in on a topic you find interesting and learn and share.

Please feel free to stop by the Introductions Forum to tell the members about yourself!

If you are one of our younger members, please stop by the Youth Introductions Forum and get acquainted with us all!

Welcome to Susan's Place. There has been some discussion about a surgery like this so you aren't the first. Possible there may be a surgeon or two that might offer this procedure for enough money but it could be very complicated. The primary issue would be finding enough skin to construct a proper labia. Skin grafts could be used however it's going to leave a scar somewhere because the graft would need to be full thickness. This means all of the blood supply would need to be moved with the graft. It would be much simpler to stay in the binary because those surgeries have been refined over the years and can have a high success rate.

I guess it is just trying to convince a surgeon to do it then, I have options to compel a surgeon to do it, even if I don't like taking it, and my healthcare system will pay for it. I'm under no illusion that this wouldn't likely be something that's never been done before so not without risk or compromises that need to be made. I just need something other than deal with it at this point.

I do know of one place who specifically said they would be offering that sort of option. First before anyone says something, I fully recognize that this company got in trou let for talking about themselves here.
Now that that disclaimer is done, PriyaMed in India said that would be one option once the hospital there approves the procudere for full use. They worked with surgeons there to be able to offer a full peritoneal vaginoplasty just like what is done for genetic girls with Mullerian agenesis. They have done a few surgeries there for the trial period and are supposed to be offering it in 2019.

Here's why they can do the dual option. Their surgeons cut the bulbospongiosis mucles at the anchor to the anal sphenctor and the muscles that cross the pelvic opening there. They also leave those muscles in tact on the outside of the ureathra. By pushing them up they create an opening for the neovagina. Then they pull the peritoneal tissue from the abdominal pouch to make the vaginal canal. So by doing this a functional vaginal canal is possible without destroying the base of the penile tissues.

I wouldn't want such a thing but to each their own. I'm on their waiting list for the full PPV surgery when it's available but I want to just be a regular woman.

Having mtf srs and keeping the penis has been done in the USA recently, and there's even a post with photos. I can't post a link here though, due to the content.

Look at Dr Wittenberg and Satterwhite.

Can't seem to find it, do you have any other keywords to search for? Either way I'll keep looking, thank you. If this is being done elsewhere, then I should be able to convince the people in Montreal to consider doing it for me.

I found it that's awesome and beyond acceptable. All I need to do is to convince GRS Montreal to do it. Thank you! You just made the last 25 years of my life. Honestly, I'm beyond grateful.
