 :( My cuticles have a lot of small cuts in them, and my pinky finger was bleeding after I left.
I went to a place with good reviews about 300.The place used tools like they have at a doctors office those were sealed and they showed me they opened them. The manicure was 19.00$, and I tipped 10.00$, but I have to redo the low quality polish. 5/10 my first experience.That place was not worth the price.
8/10 after I finish my final touches.

It can be so very affirming and a wonderful experience to go to a beauty salon and get your nails done.  I am ambsolutely shocked by your bad news report about your cuticles and pinky finger mishaps... and also about the "low quality" polish.   THIS IS NOT A NORMAL THING THAT HAPPENS when getting a professional manicure.

In the future please do plan to get another manucure but perhaps go to a different beauty salon.
Have you had your hair professionally style by a beautician yet?  That is also so very enjoyable and affirming.

Again, sorry about your bad experience.
Hugs,
Danielle

The first time that I got a manicure or a pedicure, there was irritation and bleeding.
There was two thoughts on why... My fingers and toes aren't used to it .... or, the person doing it was too rough.
When it comes to tipping, remember that it's for doing a good job.  I tip like I tip at a restaurant, 20% typically (+- according to the quality of service).  If you start out giving +50% for getting cuts and lousy polish, you've set the precedent of tipping high.
Feeling comfortable in the salon you visit is important also.  If you return there, point out what happened and see what the next one is like.  They are meant to relax you and give you that pampered feeling that we girls love.

Oh, and polish... if you think it's dry, you probably need more time.  1-2 hours is what it can take.  Using a fan helps.
I touch them with my tongue to see if the are dry.  Though now I have them use shellac polish, they are dried under a UV light.  They previously applied builder gel and the polish is put on them for a very pretty look.  When I need a redo, they just sand off the polish (no soak), fill the builder gel, then new polish.  Hard and durable in minutes

I've been getting manicures and pedicures for years.  You shouldn't be getting a lot of nicks etc., though you may get one occasionally.  My question is what condition were your fingers in?  If you haven't had a manicure before, your hands might be in rough shape to begin with.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Started HRT April 17, 2019.

I have not yet because I am a bit conservative when it comes to expressing my self right now.
I do need to get my hair cut because it is right below my shoulders, and when I wake up in the morning it's all in my face or it gets caught up on my pillows.  :eusa_wall:
The bigger problem though is I love my hair, and I don't want to get it cut.:)
I would post a image of before and after of my nails but I don't know how.All in all though after everything is done and I put tons of cuticle oil on them, they look really nice.I know they cut my cuticles because when she put the alcohol on it  I felt that burning.I found this really nice color by Essie called Tinted Love.I still present as male, but I feel great.

@Coffeedrew

Regarding hair...  I had grown my own hair out well below my shoulders but last summer I had it cut and trimmed to about 3 inches above the shoulders...  I never thought that I wanted to get it cut because it took so long to grow out but it is so much easier to take care of and my hair salon did such a great job, it looks so feminine too.

@Coffeedrew
I see that my picture posting instructions worked for you...
... thank you for sharing your before and after manicure photos....
I like the pastel pink color, perfect color and shade if you are not fully out...
and if you are fully out it is a great everyday color for almost any occasion.

You did a great job repainting your nails and moisturizing your fingers... looks great!!!

Thanks for sharing and posting.
