My wife loves to watch cop shows, and I get second hand exposure to them.
On the show "The First 48" (a show about finding leads to murders before 48 hrs) in episode 27 of season 12 (first shown 5/15/2012) a transgender woman is murdered and she is consistently misgendered by the police and the shows commentator. She is identified as a transvestite, but obviously she is presenting as a woman and it's clear that HRT was involved in her appearance.
I mentioned to my wife that I found that very insulting. She pointed out that this is in 2012 and that few were enlightened at this point. That may be, but it's nearly 2019 and this episode has no place on television any longer. I will be send a note to the "LIFETIME" channel to complain.
