But I mostly love sit-down Mexican/TexMex restaurants.  My go-to meal is the beef chimichanga with rice and beans, lettuce, tomato, and some chips and queso.  Keep in mind that I rarely get outside Oklahoma.
Wait'll they get a load of me!

My apologies.

If you are sorry there is an edit button. The only arguments I want over Taco's is who gets the last one? ;)

Still for a Chain Del Taco is my go to... Here is Washington we have an OK selection of non chain places, still the best are the one's my partner makes, think that is the main reason I keep her ;)

I just took my post down.

Anyway, too bad they don't have a Taco John's where I live.  They own the trademark to Taco Tuesday.
Wait'll they get a load of me!

It might be cheaper and I would have some privacy! I will show her the post ASAP!

Being a Texan, I make my own.  When I was young and worked at a sheet metal shop, we would stock up on .39 cent tacos at Taco Bell and put them in the break room freezer.  They would last us for several weeks.   Taco Bell tacos are like Ramen noodles to Texan.

I rarely cross the Red but I am going to be in OK City this Spring to visit a Shipmate and to tool down the Mother Road for a piece to experience Route 66 before she is all gone.   I am sure that all of the original taco stands have long gone.

Nice.
I sure hope so.  It has been a dream to take that trip before it is all gone.  Would love to hit the road fully transitioned in a convertible muscle car and see what kind of trouble a girl can get into. :)

I wouldn't mind a trip up and down Route 66 with some lady friends.  Hell, I was born in a town on the Mother Road; Claremore, Oklahoma.

I highly suggest it.  It is fast disappearing historical resource directly connected to America's golden age of motoring and vehicle vacation travel.  Doing a little online research is now required to actually find the Road and to see sights, venues, destinations and eats that are still available and in what condition.  Many have gone into disrepair or abandoned.  Then there is a cadre of hearty Folks who have purchased, restored and reopened these historical treasures.  Many towns have realized this treasure and has sought to preserve it.  I spent nearly 3 months in Flagstaff, Arizona 2 Winters ago and it was treat to be right there on the former Right of Way of 66.  It was a damn good treat.   Over past the Continental Divide, I jumped on the actual road bed that parallels the Interstate.  Let's just say the ride was  bit rough!  Also suggest riding the Steam/diesel historic excursion train from Williams, Arizona (preserved portion of Route 66) directly into the main part of the Grand Canyon.  What a beautiful and relaxing way to travel!  Being Arizona, there ARE some taco stands that can be found.
