I think there are a lot of ways to view this, and there is a difference between the various generations and types of implants. I had latest generation textured round gel implants installed in early October. They are still settling but past the "torpedo boob" phase and I cannot remember what it was like without them. For me, my breast growth stunted and the implants were more affirming than grs because it helped my self esteem and misgendering nearly went away over night.
RealSelf is a great resource to see before and after and everything in between with various size, shapes, manufacturers, etc. when I was doing my research I did not see a lot that looked solid unless the woman went huge and many seemed to want that look. My surgeon said that is a desirable look on the west coast of the us.
To me the only thing I don't like is my cleavage is further apart than I'd like, so at the gym I fee a bit self conscious because they aren't necessarily squished together as much as natural breasts would be.
They are not as soft as I would like and I think that is probably partly due to the under muscle placement. They are "fluffing" as they say but will never be the same as natural. But they do not look like rocks on my chest either, unless I wear something super tight in which they get pushed up. Then you can sort of see the outlines. Size relative to the breast pocket also has a lot to do with it - I went with the largest that fit. I could have gone bigger, but at 34DD not sure that would have looked good, and that's when they would get the Super fakey look since they would be bigger than the breast pocket, so there would not be much breast tissue covering them.
A trans woman I know who had the exact same dimensions (within 1mm) went 75cc smaller and reports they are very soft, so size definitely has something to do with it. Same surgeon, same everything.
