Carmen-

I can't believe there's an active trans forum out there! I used to use forums so much, but they got replaced by sites like ->-bleeped-<- and twitter. Forums are just the best way to talk to people and make connections. I have no idea why they went out of style, I loved them so much. Anyway, I'm 22, pre HRT trans girl. I start hormones very soon, though. I'll just say right now I have a lot of opinions that might be offensive but I won't ever talk about them because I want to stay here and I don't want to bring anyone down. They're mine to deal with and you won't see me ever arguing for my deeply held beliefs, because the last thing I want to is bring sadness to this awesome, positive place. But just so you can understand me and how I feel, I should let you know - I have this intense jealously and reverence whenever I'm around cis women, and I know it's not a good thing and it's not fair to them because no one chooses how they were born, but yeah. I just have this deep set belief that cis women are superior to trans women and always will be, and that no trans woman can ever attain the perfection that cis women were given from birth. It's something I've accepted, and something I genuinely feel that I can live with my entire life. It just makes me more grateful for any man who chooses me over a cis woman. I don't want to offend anyone but I do believe in that. I promise to never talk about this again, but I just wanted to share that in my introduction post so you guys can know me a little bit better.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I really want to stay here for a long time. If you guys want to see what I look like, I have an imgur album here: https://imgur.com/a/o0eBZ Thank you so much for maintaining this forum over the years and keeping it active, I think this place will help me out a lot honestly. Also my Discord is Carmen#0072 if anyone uses that service  :icon_chick:

Hi Carmen - I took a look at your pic.  You can post them directly into your post.  I am not the one to give instructions as I struggle with it a bit but I can eventually do it so it is easy.

If you are currently pre HRT you will be very pretty in the next year or two.  HRT does not dramatically alter your face but it does soften it a bit IMO.

As for having strong opinions I am in the same boat as you.  I do tend to piss off some other trans people because I have strong opinions about living authentically for multiple reasons.  When I started to come out and transition I had a few mentors that used the tough love approach with me and asked me difficult questions to in turn ask myself.

For me this approach was very helpful.  The type of things such as 'why are you doing this' and 'what are you REALLY afraid of'.   Being openly trans takes some courage but in the end I think it is a healthy approach.

For me when I am provocative I do try to take the - this is just my opinion approach and also try to be polite.  I am not the judge of anyone except myself - but I do like to give my opinion based on my experiences.  That is what others did for me and it helped.  So my vote is - let your opinions fly just try to be polite and respectful.
The first transphobe you have to conquer is yourself

Awesome, thank you for this reply! Sorry for switching the topic to forum mechanics, but how do I get an avatar? I don't see a way to upload it on my account. And do I have to do this capcha/verification with every post I make? Do you ever stop needing to do that?

Yeah I read the rules and all that, but I'm saying I don't see a place in the account settings where I can upload an avatar. I've used a lot of forums so I should know what I'm doing, I'm sorry lol.

You need 15 legit posts and whoop there it is  ;D  Just don't get into "Post Padding" because that will get you in trouble

Make sure your posts mean something

Ahh that makes sense, I thought it might be something like that. And no way, I would never do that, it would be pretty selfish to spam this amazing forum just so I could get an avatar quicker. I just wanted to make sure I could do it eventually. Thanks for letting me know <3

Welcome!

22 eh? If you start HRT before 25 you may get pelvic tilt as the bones have not fused yet. You could end up with a very nice natural swagger. I have a hard time separating if I want to be, befriend, or just bed women so I understand the worship mentality in part. Your opinion about cis women being categorically superior is your own however, and as a human, you are welcome to it. I choose to believe that trans women are women and deserve to be treated as such.

Ricki

At 5 I forgot who I am. Fortunately, who I am protected me all these years until I remembered. Whatever else happens, I will live the rest of my life whole.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Thank you so much for these kind words Ricki! I'm glad to know that I have three years to spare, that actually makes me so happy. I'm starting hormones in February, so I won't need those years but it makes me feel good that my pelvis won't get fused and that I transitioned in time to stop that from being a problem. Thank you for understanding my feelings about cis women superiority. I really don't want to offend anyone and I'll keep my thoughts to myself for sure. In general, you seem like such an awesome person and I hope we can become friends on here!
