As I am getting old, I tried some anti-aging creams or chemical exfoliators

The first one was Retinol. I purchased several packs of Retinol cream about 10 years ago, but started applying it on my face at night a few months ago. I have not yet seen any noticeable difference. Probably the concentration of Retinol is too low in the product I purchased.

The second one I started experimenting is glycolic acid. As my facial skin tends to be insensitive to any cream or medicine, I tried a 60% solution from eBay.com, although they recommend starting with very low levels. It is very cheap as in the following photo:

I have already ordered additional 3 bottles of 70% solution, as the delivery is free.

I applied the 60% solution of glycolic acid 3 times so far, once per every week. Yes. I could feel slight prickling sensation in my face. In 5 minutes, I neutralized my face with a mixture of water and baking soda following the instruction, before rinsing with tap water. I could see a few red freckles next day, but they disappeared quickly as I applied sun cream.

So far, I feel the glycolic acid has been very effective. I can see the noticeable difference. My facial tone became brighter. I am going to continue this process of applying glycolic acid, as it is so much inexpensive. I also apply it on my finger and my butts, where unidentified chronic skin problems caused dead skin cells. I will evaluate the effect on those areas in 1 or 2 months.

Another chemical exfoliator I am curious about is salicylic acid.

As salicylic acid has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, I may apply it on my fingers and butts.
Just ago, I ordered this 2 + 1 free product: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SALICYLIC-Acid-Chemical-Peel-5-10-20-30-Acne-Scars-Black-heads-spots-1oz/322580008592

Has anybody ever tried this kind of products?

Was a "Platinum VIP Club" member barbie but have been remiss of late. Website has many professional style help videos to guide one thru skin problems. Have tried peels, a thing called Fade Bright Lightening which is a prep for peel and, of course, Retinol which comes in different strengths.

"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

As I heard, just one session of professional chemical peeling in dermatologist's office costs as much as US$90 here in S. Korea. It basically uses the same glycolic acid or salicylic acid. Some kind of laser peeling costs as much as US$250 per session here. My method of DIY chemical feeling using glycolic acid or salicylic acid just costs US$0.2 including baking soda and cotton pad. So far, no side effect. I will keep posting.

I'm interested in this topic too.

Currently I'm doing a vitamin C cream serum in the morning and at night.  Along with a night cream.  I also exfoliate almost daily and do peel off mask once or twice a week.  Of course I always moisturize.

I'm going to order prescription strength Retina-A online very soon.

I'll get more info soon on my product details.

For me it seems no matter what I try it seems to always help over time.

I've pretty much quit using foundation also.  Only going with eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss.

I think I look fine for being 45.  Other women love my skin and my boyfriend thinks I look like I'm in my 30's.
I've taken what others have offered, so now I'm giving back.

I keep thinking there aren't really any miracle creams or serums out there that will transform our complexions from male-like to female-like, however, I have noticed that my current regimen is yielding positive, if not miraculous results.  I use Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair twice daily.  I hoped it would give me a feminine complexion, but that hasn't been the case.  It has improved the texture of my skin tremendously though, significantly reducing the size of my pores, making a much better canvas for makeup application.  I'll gladly take this small victory.  One minor downside is that the cream tends to make my face a little more sensitive to close, repetitive shaving.  I think it's a small price to pay for the improvement in my skin'd texture.

Hugs,

Sally

It takes time with HRT and good skin care.  It will happen.

My skin is much nicer than most women at 45.

I mostly just use eye and lip makeup these days.

Maybe consider seeing a skin care specialist.  They analyze your skin and tell you what to do to improve.

I recently bought a product that was on the expensive side, called " protini polypeptide cream ".  It contains retinol, collagen, elasticin, and a few other things.  It's sort of a universal treatment I guess, and it claims to stimulate the production of elasticin.  I have an unnaturally high amount of elasticin already, but I am aging, so I am trying to slow down that process.  My impressions of it are that it works quite well.  My skin is definitely better looking, and it feels tougher and healthier.  I would recommend it, other than the price, which if I recall correctly was about 50 bucks.
