I wonder if because of being trans I am simply studying women's faces, movements, attire, and so on much more critically than ever.

I get this above, when I started transitioning, I became hyper aware of others, more so than ever before. I will run into women, that I know are women, yet they have "overlapping features" of males. It's an interesting topic, and people watching is definitely something I engage in more than before, I can pay attention to many fine details, like never before. The information processing as you move through a crowd, can be intense. Sometimes it's nice to turn this off and just go about your business....

Women come in all shapes and sizes, and people are interesting. The reverse can be seen in men, like guys with moobs, I don't know why I notice this more today, slap me....

I think HRT did change my facial features over time (not quite as much as I'd like). I like to think I have a better smile today, in fact I am almost always smiling out in public, I smile at just about everyone now days. Just the small act of smiling and exercising my "smile muscles" I think increases the feminine read factor (subjective).

I notice them every now and then.  Sometimes I even wonder if they are in transition and then I see their kids with same features -- guess I was wrong.  What I also notice as much are men with feminine faces and features, and even men with bigger hips -- and my mind goes all over the place if I let it.   My husband knows me well enough that sometimes if he see me 'seeing'  he will just tell me to not even go there.

In all actuality, many many many models and actresses "have masculine" faces and triangle shaped bodies (wider shoulders than hips).  I believe this is in part due to higher levels of testosterone which causes added bone growth all over, higher height, and "husky" voices.

Famke Janssen, Frederique van der Wal, Helena Christensen, Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Kate Walsh, Geena Davis, Kate Winslet, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Eva Mendes,

These ladies tick on my tdar: square jaws, deep set eyes, good sized brow bones, sturdy chins... check them out.

Some of these women wear size 12 shoes and stand six feet tall and are regarded as the most gorgeous women on Earth.  We're in good company!

Maybe so, but their perfect brows and white smile seem to counteract their possible masculine looking face.
This is what i never seem to understand is that some trans are eager to pass or desire ffs, yet neglect
the most important feminine features on a face first, brows and/or smile. These two alone can make such a
huge difference, especially in the way some of us may be peceived by others too.

I had a waitress at a restaurant yesterday,  who I thought for 100% that she was a man!  Very masculine looking face, big hands, etc., until she spoke with a clearly feminine voice.  One never knows!

I do find myself paying a lot of attention to how other women look.

It is fun sometimes to people watch, not to stare of course, but to simply notice them.
You notice their faces, hair, clothing, walk, and listen to their voices too.  Some women seem to have such pleasant female voices.  I wish I did!

Does anyone else like to people watch, in a nice way?

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.
Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Be brave, be strong.  Try a little kindness.  I am a brown eyed brunette.

Hi.

I was wondering if it is just me as a mtf that I am noticing in public a lot of masculine looking women's faces.  Have you noticed this too?  I am not talking about senior citizens, I am talking about ladies perhaps in the later 20s and maybe perhaps into their 50s or so.

Now, do not get me wrong, I am saying they do look female overall, I am just talking about their faces.  Maybe this is because of their makeup.

But some of their faces clearly look a lot more masculine than our many lovely looking women we have here visiting Susan's, including the many who are just starting to transition!  I shake my head sometimes, as a very nice woman I see in public and talk with sure sounds female, dresses and is otherwise clearly female, but her face looks more male than female!

I wonder if because of being trans I am simply studying women's faces, movements, attire, and so on much more critically than ever.  Perhaps I am thinking of future facial feminization surgery (FFS) needs or the lack of it.

Now I suppose there are women who want to look more masculine than feminine, but not me.

I think that beauty is overrated, but it is appreciated.  What I am talking about here is simply women who have more masculine facial features than female facial features, not gorgeous vs. plain Jane faces.  It is also interesting that I can see many senior ladies who have more female looking faces than many much younger women!

Chrissy

Maybe some of them are trans, so what do you know, why you talk about it like it were weird.
