I'm new to this entire thing, I've reached a level of acceptance that brings me great peace, but I don't like being lumped into the 'LGBQwhatver' category, I really hate that term, period. I've never considered myself part of that and I don't like any kind of institution, social justice mission, or anything that makes a monolith of us.
Anyways, I was gonna put this in the Beauty thread but part of what drives me into this lifestyle is 1. failure to be a man and get girls, and 2. the fact that I look quite feminine and pretty without needing any kind of surgery or modification. I'm a "natural" and my beauty really shines a lot brighter as a female than as a male and anyways no really likes "pretty boys". I don't know where I'm going with this... just expressing my individuality as someone who probably won't fit into the whatever community this is supposed to be because I differ from many trans and especially queer and gay people who I cannot relate to at all.

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?

lol No FLAMES Swanson in certain aspects couldn't agree more! Am having a "rant day" myself, if for entirely different reasons, this whole "trans phenomenon" can certainly be very isolating & trying at best!

Plus our plight being used as a political pawn by the "intersectional" crowd seeking modifications to society in our name hasn't altogether endeared us to the general public of late either. We probably should not be under the LGB umbrella because while being trans can overlap with issues of sexuality it certainly isn't defined or primarily concerned with them. It was inevitable that some crossed wires would occur if we were placed into the same categorical pidgeonhole as matters of sexuality and/or leisure.

Since in my lifetime I've fallen under LGB and T its a bit silly trying to 'fit' into umbrella term so I'm happy to be... me.
Every day is a totally awesome day
Every day provides opportunities and challenges
Every challenge leads to an opportunity
Every fear faced leads to one more strength
Every strength leads to greater success
Success leads to self esteem
Self Esteem leads to happiness.
Cherish every day.

I am somewhat of a lesbian, mostly asexual but lesbian leaning!  Try to be acepted by those TERF lebians!!  They act as If am trying to do that for a fetish!  I was told by several of them that I can't be a lesbian, because I was born with a penis!
I don't know if the gay guys are similarly militant, but those TERF ladies are definitely not very pleasant!

I most fundamentally identify myself as a unique person deeper than any identity label. Kinda hard in today's tribalism.

When interfacing with other people and in need of a term to describe people's baked in bigotries from their deep fears, I'll cough up the terms trans, LGBTalphabetsoup, neurodiverse, whatever. Humanity and my personal interests and passions define me first, but know those terms as well as other social identities best describe how I'm treated in today's society, for better or worse.

We need terms to talk of social inequality and intersectionality, but even well intentioned people throw these words around without thinking of the humans they're speaking of. And of course we have this unhealthy tendency to like compare BuzzFeed Privilege Quiz scores.

Swanson, I think you've hit on the fundamental element of fulfillment.  To be fulfilled you need to true to yourself alone, and by virtue of the fact you've recognized you are unique, you won't waste precious life trying to fit into a mold that isn't you.  Celebrate your uniqueness and apologize not one bit for any of it.  You go girl!

Hugs,

Sally

lol ;) I remember back to some things I was doing when "30". On HRT, that was just before I met my "ex".<mod language edits> yoga pants, camel-toes  Swanson you are definitely WIDE OPEN! But as a 60's child gotta say alcohol is so passé (like 'pot' is for deadbeats)! Couldn't help but transcribe lyrics it appears no-one has done it yet!

Better ways to get clean drugs
Not for me no
i need someone to take away my options
ask me if i'm happy i don't know
is it a place we need to go
ask me if i'm happy i don't care
maybe i'd be happy if you disappeared
maybe i'd be happy if you give me drugs
drugs can make a f**k last all night long
cause nothing makes me happy about getting off
reaching for the saddest little cloth
reaching for the water on the sill
water with the saddest little film
ask me if I'm happy what does it mean
i tell you that i am if you tell me i'm dreaming
to wake up in place i've never been
wake up with a face i've never seen
wake up with the purest sense of being
ya to wake up to a woman that isn't screaming
ask me if i'm happy
la la la
happy is a pill for the faint of heart
happy is a place in the dark . . .
in the dark . . . in the dark . . .
yea you know it is

I am!  The orchi I was so concerned about is a thing of the past, the apin is very limited, I did not have a single pain pill today.  I had a big scar from the bleeding last night, and am still a little on the weak side.  But after 4 hours in the emergency area, i was released with no further bleeding.  My wound has not bled since!

Yes, I am happy as can be!  No need for stupid spiro anymore!
