I am currently on a low dose estrogen started late January and below low dose start of spironlactone this week.

Of course genetics and YMMV, closer to 40 then I would like to be, plays a role.

Over the course of 10 plus years:
If I stay at my current dose will I be looking at the same outcome as if I moved to max doses of both medications?

Just wanted peoples thoughts and experiences.

I believe if you start out as a masculine man then full dose mtf hrt in itself will not be enough to allow you to pass.

I started at age 46 in 2015 and even now I have better skin and softened features but strong jawline, deep voice and male figure get me gendered male every time.

If you are naturally androdgynous or feminine - hrt will have male fail happening in the end.

Kind regards, Kirsten.

HRT won't change your mannerisms and voice.  These may be changed independent of HRT and surgery.

Dosage does not appear to me be a determining factor. When I was on low dose, my mental state cleared up significantly. The spiro had already given me small breasts but the estrogen has increased their size to C. When we switched to higher doses is when the fat redeposited to where I have a butt and my waist has gone from 48 to 36. Of course losing 100 lbs helps too. I have lost about two inches in height and have dropped one shoe size. I just started injections so we will see what new discoveries I can make. The one thing that I have achieved that I could have without E, is realizing I am not alone. And that brings great peace of mind.

I also had clearing of the mind when I started. My Endo gave me very high starting dose of E saying "we can always back off if we need" and since the beginning we never had to. I've been on the same dose of E and Spiro since I started in Feb and have nicely "balanced out"  My first week I was going to the bathroom something like 15 to 20 times a day. I'm currently back to normal. Mood swings have been moderate. Today I cried just because it's Friday!

OH Sophia - Thats adorable!   I've always been a very emotional person myself but now.... I cry at the most seemingly trivial thing....
It sounds like your well on track so just sit back, relax and remember...it will be Saturday very soon.... ;-)

Take care,

Sonja.

Hi ya, started hrt in 2011 here, patches first 14 months, then IM for 6 years 4 months, now back on patches in 2019. My Dr wanted me to be in female normal range for my induced "puberty", so after GCS, and no more spiro, and later in life I am of the mind that less medicine is really more, the patches have kept me feeling good so far (subjective measure), even though I was used to much higher blood e numbers before with IM. Go get test here next month, see where I am now...I agree with others the early feelings of peace of mind is wonderful...

Best of luck to ya
