In my school sometimes the subject of menstruation is touched, or the fact of the female contraceptive methods and those things and it makes me feel a little less feminine the fact that I will never experience that, and I can't converse with other girl and discuss about periods or that my parents worry that I will not get pregnant and, it makes me very uncomfortable.

I know I'm a woman, but we live in a world so cisgenero that things like that make you feel like you're the only one, and that's how I feel, and I'm the only girl who is a transgender in my school, anyway I've never found it necessary my colleagues know that I am trans, because that would make them only think about my genitals and that does not call my attention, because woman is more than genitals, but i feel alone about it, i don't like be different in that part.

And what do you feel about it, about not having periods, or something?

@Astxl:
I have been full time since December 2016 and I live my life and have my own business as a woman.  I am involved in several social clubs with cis-women and I have been invited to bridal and baby showers, etc.   In those settings the "female" subjects that you mentioned among others usually come up in casual discussions.  I enter in the conversation and contribute as I feel I am able.

At this point, at the end-game of my transition, I don't even think about anything being odd about those types of discussions...  in fact, at a baby shower (when I was 38 years old)  I was asked if I had any kids and when I said no they asked when did I think I was going to get pregnant and/or what types of birth control do I use...  I answered carefully of course because there where many women there that had no idea that I was trans.  Frankly I found all of that quite affirming and I enjoy "passing" reliably ...

If you are early in your transition, it will take time for all of this to work out for you... perhaps not in the same was as it did for me, but it will get better for you with some time.

***NOTE:  Since you are a young person, just 15 or 16 years old, you have lots of transition life ahead of you to explore and to learn.  At such a young age you will have a much easier time than many here on the forums that started transitioning much later in life.

                PATIENCE is required!!!

Best Wishes,
Danielle

We live in an imperfect world where solutions to what ails us are sometimes imperfect as well.  I hear what you say and I have had such thoughts.  Those thoughts lead to self doubt telling me that I am an imposter, a fake, a bad copy at that.

I know who I am, I am Bea, I am a woman.  I do not care that biology and the world in general disagrees.  It's not up to them.  I know several Women who through various circumstances in life were/are unable to have children.  That one fact does not diminish the fact that they are women.  I am sure, like you and I, they have moments of doubt too but in the end, we know that what I said is true.

Best regards,

Bea

@Astxl:
Dear Astxly:
Please allow me to rephrase that... you are still early in your life experiences.

You may not be "early" in your transition but you are still a young teenager and as it is with any young teenager you are still learning about life as you approach adulthood.

Continue on and make careful and wise decisions, many of which can affect the rest of your life.

I will be eagerly looking for more posts and updates from you.

Best Wishes to you.
Danielle

Your post is not stupid.  It's about belonging and that is a universal human need.

Where I work, the guys, the bosses talk about the girls.  They talk about online first person shooter games and they talk about cars and stuff.  I try to fit in but nothing except the girls interest me and since I am happily married, those conversations really should only go so far.   It sucks knowing that you don't quite fit in.

Hi Astxly, what Danielle said above is exactly right.

   PATIENCE is required!!!

Tough to do as a teenager, it goes against all of your natural instincts but it is true.

You know how old people seem to think they know everything?  Well it's because they have lived it already.

Here is one thing that you have going for you that is HUGE.  That you are young.  Many of us here are middle age.
You are going to live most of your life as a woman.  HRT will have a bigger impact on you than us 'old' ladies.

Also society is changing.  If I had transitioned a long time ago as a teenager it would have been horrible.  Everyone would have thought I was crazy.  The world is changing for the better.

You have a great life in front of you.  There will be hard times ahead but the future is bright.  Most of us would love to trade places with you.  Hang in there and look forward to the good things ahead.

I agree with Kim above, you have many good years ahead of you, and this old gal would gladly trade places with you, because in this time, at your age, you might live long enough to have a chance at full female reproductive surgery as it becomes available. Many promising hints of medical advances do we hear about...

Hi Astxly
Believe me, periods and that stuff is no fun to be missed.  I did not have full periods (I have something resembling an ovary in me), but I had monthly hot flashes and funny feelings.  All this endet, when I had my menopause, and I am very glad not to have it anymore!
As all the people who answered before me said, you are still very young and have a long, fulfilled life as a woman in front of you.  You  will find and develop so many trades that solidify your femininity that you don't need any periods for this!
