Hi! I think I'll go through with SRS in a few months time and I've already just about decided to go with Dr. Miro (Miroslav Djordjevic). He is a big international name in FTM surgeries but seems to be excellent either way.
He utilizes three different methods: penile, sigmoid colon and peritoneal vaginoplasty
I've asked him a few different questions and
he said he's had 557 patients using penile inversion, 289 with colon and 22 peritoneal (it's very recent).
4 people have had problems with stenosis after penile because they didn't follow through with the dilation, and one patient who developed developed diversion colitis.
I'm asking a lot of questions about the different methods, and although I do quality for penile I'm stuck in deciding between colon and peritoneal SRS.
Advantages of sigmoid colon is: zero or no dilation, self lubricating and self cleaning. He said none of their patients had ever had problems with prolonged mucus production, foul smell or ileus. From what I've gathered reading online a lot of the bad rep colon has is because of the older method used.
Peritoneal is a lot less invasive, also becomes a nice form of tissue similar or identical (?) to natal vaginal tissue, lubricates less so you need like lubricant for sex. and it requires life long dilation to prevent stenosis.
I'm still asking a lot of questions to try to figure out what's the best to go for
