After food shop today I spent the afternoon sorting out the collection of the engines, lots of email back and forth and sorting payment and they should be with me on Monday. More keyboard work tomorrow as need to fill in the form for local council to receive my housing benefit, brain will be fried downloading bank statements and getting them loaded onto form. Wish I was better at this computing stuff!

Bought some "fresh" pineapple chunks as they were reduced price with yesterdays use by date. Made a pineapple upside down cake, tested my new oven proof fry pan by frying the pineapple first then putting the sponge cake mix on top and into the oven. Worked fine and turned out on a plate without sticking!
The Atlantic storm is moving in, very windy now so hope it dies down by the time I have to go to the dentist late afternoon. So roads blocked by fallen trees they said on local radio.

Well I just got mugged, went to the dentist for a check over (fine apart from a broken filling ,wanted £75 to refill and she said my x-ray from last time shows some rot in a place they cant fill) then the hygienist did a cut and buff and that cost £78 !!! I cant afford the fill and the holed tooth will have to be pulled, so I will wait till it hurts.

Ouch!

Can you use a temporary filling for now? You don't want it getting infected.

I got some temporary filling paste at the drugstore. Over the counter, so no prescription is needed. I keep it on hand in case of just such an emergency. So far, I have been lucky and have not needed it.

The brand name is DenTek and I got it at Walgreens. There are other brands too, but that is the one I have.

I think it might be under the gum so not reparable, clear sky this morning but cold. Must remember to drop my youngest's birthday card of with the ex as I forgot it last Monday and not been that way since. Birthday was on Wed but I did message him.
Well apart from one rain storm for 30mins we missed the bad weather as it went further north than they thought, lots of damage in Ireland and Scotland. Wet on and off next week so they say.

Didn't completely miss the south as we were on our way to Bristol Airport at 3am and the A38 was blocked by a fallen tree

Well it was calm today but cold, got to 2 pm and I started feeling chill even with a small fan heater on. Had to call in on Deb as she has returned from seeing her son in Australia, some nice pics and the beach at Cairns looks lovely. Right its time to cook my dinner!

I used to have such a kit that I bought in a UK local pharmacy before going on a remote overseas camping trip.  Similar kits are offered online such as this one at Boots:

DenTek-Temparin-Max-Dental-Repair-Kit

Walgreens owns Boots I think so if Walgreens stocks it, maybe Boots does in its stores as well as online.

At home today as my back giving me grief again, think it was from lifting the back of the drag bike to move it over out of the way. Pills helping but it was a job to stand upright first thing, hope better tomorrow as have the 2 engines and gearbox turning up on a pallet that will need moving into my workshop.

Oh Davina please be very careful when lifting.  I have gotten used to squatting then using both arms as I use my leg power too to lift things by hand.

Hugs,

Chrissy

Be careful Davina. Even small engines are heavy. Girl muscles don't lift as much!

I agree with Chrissy, Davina, be careful with your back.  I have spent many days laying on the floor with a bad back.

A friend has gone to Turkey three times for dental work for her and her husband.  The savings paid for the trip and the dental work was excellent according to her.

She was lucky, there are some horror stories about the standard of care and work over there. Its an old injury that gets troublesome ,it can go out just moving gently sometimes like reaching for stuff thats just in front.
Glad I stayed in anyway as there was almost horizontal sleet lunchtime!!!!
