Davina's diary vol 3, life goes on... continued

Took me almost 15mins to remove the frozen snow off the roof, screen and bonnet. My hands were frozen by then, still the car was nice and warm. Ordered a refurbished Ninja air fryer from Ninja, looks like its a returned unit due to damage so it might have some scratches but at £71 instead of £145 I will take that. Anyway its still very cold out there, put the heater on in the bedroom again.

Took mum up to the bank as she had to get some cash out, CLOSED, what on a Fri!! She will have to go back on Mon but I am busy that day, so after going  in the book shop (she bought 5 paper backs) I got treated to lunch. Had a mini fish and chips with mushy peas, okay but fish a bit over cooked. Forgot to drop mums prescription in on the way home, will have to wait now.

Made a fried breakfast as staying in today, its blowing a hoolie and lashing rain. If I went down the workshop I would be building an ark!!Watching the Gran Prix qualifying for Las Vegas in a moment.

The recon air fryer turned up, just plain in a box with no instruction book but found it online. Scratch marks on case ,looks like a new drawer. Will give it a go later to make a cake/pudding.

Cake still uncooked in centre underneath so had to flip it, better than the other air fryer though. Biblical rain not happened like they forecast, still very wet and windy.

Lots of floods and road closures, waiting for it to work its way down the river and close the one road out of town. Next 2 days are dry so will give it time to clear.
 Not done my waist line any good stuck at home last week, on a strict diet before holiday!!!

Went over to Nick's yesterday and finished making up the brake pipes on the hot rod T, my back took some stretching to get working this morning!! Road was closed out of town when I came back due to flood so I will have to go the long way round to get to the food shop tomorrow. Sorting out stuff needed for the trip to Scotland today, wheel skates and tie down straps. have to go to my workshop to get the straps, will see if any flood damage from water running under doors.

Workshop was okay, need to scrape a channel outside the doors as soil has built up. The builders are in working on some flats, skip in one parking space and they parked their van in my space.
 Food shop today as of to pick up the new hot rod build tomorrow, need to get to my friends very early and it looks like freezing fog first thing as well as start of the rush hour (that lasts over 2) . Just taking a sports bag for overnight, at least the weather will be sunny but cold.
 Dropping my old air fryer off for my sisters youngest lad as he needs support. Badly dyslexic they have had to help him get a flat, he does work but in the building trade.

One of my neighbors is from Scotland and is going there to spend the holidays with her son. I hope the weather holds and stays nice for all of you.

Long range for our holiday coach trip so far is rain, not that long range is accurate!!!
  Picked up a whole free range chicken with a reduced price, its in the air fryer now. Will be okay in the fridge for when I come home Fri. Nick sent me a message, we can leave the car on the trailer and unload it Monday when we can get a hand. Fine by me. Have to be at Nicks for 8am, alarm set for 6 then---------

I saw the massive flooding from Storm Bert.  So, glad that it didn't affect you.  It looked pretty nasty and very dangerous.

It is amazing how many countries are getting flooded this year.  So tragic.

Well that was a "fun" trip up to Edinburgh, 7 hours, 300 miles . Stayed in a Motel and found a pub for a nice dinner. Set off this morning at 8.15, 10 by the time we got the car loaded and set off home. Bit of drama when we had to reposition the car on the trailer as it slipped, got back to Nicks at 6.30 due to traffic in Birmingham. Hot rod meeting in the morning so we will have something to talk about!!

Breakfast club meet this morning, good food followed by a good chat. Consensus was I am brave to take on that new build, its fine I said just welding !!!

Stood on the scales, o dear------- Think its time to get an exercise bike!!!
 Wet and windy this morning, off to see mum and go down the workshop to get some stuff to unload the car tomorrow.

It took 2 hours to get the car sat on mums drive, it took some jigging about with jack and towing straps to move it off the trailer but all the wheels turn!! Cheap cover fitted and then back home to recover as I feel battered from pushing and pulling. Back at Nicks tomorrow to work on the T, all good fun and very grateful to my friends from the hot rod club that came to help.
  Home made chicken soup/stew for lunch, was good if a little greasy.Should slip down easy!!

Yes, have the before shots. Nothing much will happen on this one till the panel van is sold and then the Countryman is finished so some time later next year. Will post some on the Hobbies page when I can be bothered to load to Imgar.
