QuoteIs it better to get the incision under the chin or directly in front of the trachea?
Is it possible that I'd be able to hide the surgery from my friends and family?
How long does the scar take to fade and do people ever notice it?

I would think having the incision under the chin would be better. However, mine was done directly over the trachea and it's hard for me to find the scar. (Please ignore the bruise on my chin, it's from a genioplasty on 13 October.)

I went back to work just a few days after surgery. My surgery was performed in January (2018), so I just wore turtlenecks for a month or so. After that, a little coverup makeup took care of it. It may be difficult to hide an incision directly under your chin.

Without makeup, it took about 3 months for the incision to be moderately unnoticeable. Remember, YMMV - everyone heals differently.

My surgery was preformed by Dr. Murphy in Denver, Colorado.

Love always -- Jessica Rose
