How do you get rid of the dark circles and bags under eyes?
When I put makeup on the look gray and puffy.
Even when I get enough sleep they still look that way.
???

Lots of women have that, Jillieann. I think that all you can do is use concealer and do your eye makeup to minimize it if it concerns you.

Correct Dennis. :)  Even if it still shows after the makeup, then it will be fine.  If you are REALLY concerned, there's always dermablend.

But hasen't there got to be some medical condition that causes bags under the eyes?  Remedies suggested here are purely cosmetic.
I would be interested in knowing what would treat the condition, if in fact anything can

As others have said I don't think there is much you can do about the actual bags under the eyes except for cosmetics.  You may want to consult a pro who may be able to show you how to disguise them with make-up.

As for the dark circles apply a yellow foundation to the circles and then apply your regular foundation over top of that.  Similarly for red areas of the face apply a green concealer first then your regular color.  Yellow masks, dark circles under the eyes, and green masks read patches of skin.  It does work :)

A friend of mine (a guy) has always been obsessed with correcting the dark circles under his eyes.  He's tried tons of things, with not much luck from any of them.  An old home remedy is to put a hemorrhoid cream such as Preparation-H on them.  He tried that and it didn't work very well.  He also tried some of the over-priced creams from cosmetic counters.  No luck there either.

When he joined the Navy last year I ragged him for weeks before he shipped out about whether or not he was going to take his Preparation-H or his cute little L'Oreal bottle with him.  Luckily I was already full-time, so he couldn't hit me like he used to  ;D

The 3 most common Home Remedies I see for the Puffy eyes is:
1) Cold Cucumber slices over eyes
2) Wetted tea bags over eyes (way to apply them is after making tea (letting set in water 5 to 10 min, take out, put in refrigerator 10 to 15 min, then apply to puffiness, flip after few min.
3) And Wet potato slices

From what i read the tea bags have somewhat good success

For discolored under eye the others covered above with concealer/color

argh! wickham_kendra said what I was going to suggest!
I think another cure for bags under the eyes is to stay hydrated (water) and get plenty of sleep!

I have the same problem with bags under my eyes.  I use concealer which helps a little.  The basic problem is that I am not getting any younger.   :(
