The NHS Rainbow Badge scheme designed to promote inclusivity and Pride within England's healthcare system is reportedly being shut down.

The Pride badge scheme, run by NHS England and LGBTQ+ charities, has allegedly ended after the government withdrew funding, according to a VICE News investigation published on Friday (9 February).

The investigation claimed that "hundreds of thousands of pounds" of funding for the scheme, which aims to promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity within the NHS, had been "secretly pulled", and that the project had now "wound down to nothing".

Anonymous whistleblowers told VICE News that government officials within the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) encouraged NHS England bosses to pull funding for the scheme, and that NHS England has since "ghosted" those working on it.

A spokesperson for the DHSC told VICE News: "Taxpayers rightly expect value for money, which is why we expect the NHS and all of the department's arms-length bodies to continuously review whether their diversity and inclusion roles are good value, and to always consider ways to improve."

Because there is no central Hindu authority, attitudes to LGBTQ+ issues vary at different temples and ashrams. The Vedas refer to a "third sex," roughly defined as people for whom sex is not procreative, either through impotence or a lack of desire for the opposite sex. Members of the third sex are not ostracized, however, and are sometimes recognized for having divine powers or insights. The Kama Sutra, a Hindu text detailing the pleasures of sexuality, states that same-sex experience is "to be engaged in and enjoyed for its own sake as one of the arts."

Nevertheless, some Hindu communities continue to be unwelcoming of LGBTQ+ people, often reflecting attitudes imported from conquering nations, such as the British Empire in India.

Sorry Devlyn, but if his religion is accepting then he is definitely not following his religion. He has a total dislike for transgender people. This is born out from what he says (and in private when he is secretly recorded) and does. He is the leader of TERF Island. And if he is throwing us under the bus for just political reasons. That's even worse. Sooner we can remove this government the better. But the alternative is not much better.
