Wendy Lindsay

Hi
My name is Wendy, 57 years old and I'm from Scotland. Originally born as a boy but from early age I knew I was different.
The mixed emotions through teenage years and early adulthood was as you can imagine very stressful but thankfully the moments of happiness made up for the hard times.
I was born intersex , something that I was diagnosed with when I was 15..you can imagine the stigma for my myself and family in the 1980s (a different time!)
Spent so many years in shadows but now enjoying freedom

Hope to share experiences and make friends

My Life is Based on a True Story

Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything.
Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you,
so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.

Hi Wendy,

Welcome!  Yes, when I grew up gay people had a tough time being accepted.

I live in accepting community.  I can present female and not get hassled when my ID doesn't match up!
I think my neighbors know me as the one who grows all those gorgeous flowers!  They bloom throughout the  Connecticut growing season.  The question they wonder about is what am I going to do to top the flower show they got last year!  Each year the display gets bigger and better!

You are not alone in knowing things were different from when you was a young person and I'm no different.  It's good to hear that you have some wonderful memories.

Susan's is a place where you can make friends and gain new experiences, there are members here, who are intersex and can provide insights for you and your condition.

It's also good to hear that you re now enjoying your freedom and I hope that freedom will allow you fulfil your dreams.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hi Wendy,

Please stay around for awhile and explore the corners of the Susan's Place.  I think you'll find acceptance here as well as knowledge that will be useful to you.  Be not uncertain, but strong in the knowledge of who you are as you discover whom you wish to become.

  Love,  Caroline
