Carolina

Dear supportive sisters,

I'm an older, closeted CD and in late September I'm going to be  a visitor in the San Dimas/Covina area and able to open the door to my closet somewhat.  I can't "pass" but I can underdress and I expect that I'll be using The Metro quite a bit to get around.

So I'd like to have (my first) manicure/pedicure - but as an older CD I'm shy and really embarrassed to just walk in somewhere.  Does anyone have a recommendation on a "friendly & welcoming" salon?  How much should I expect to pay and tip?  And how difficult is it to take off the polish when it's time to close the closet door and go home?

And does anyone know of a "friendly & welcoming" thrift store with large size women's clothing (3X/4X, 24/26)?  And hopefully CD friendly salespersons?

I appreciate your caring support and I will have more "tourist" questions that I'll put in new threads.  Love, Caroline.
