I don't know if this has been discussed before but I looked and wasn't able to find anything. But I would like to know if any of you get turned on when you pack?
I get turned on but I'm confused about whether it's something sexual or just a "Wow, I wish I had one" kinda turn on.
Your thoughts appreciated.

When I pack I don't get turned on right away, but I do find I get arroused much quicker when the g/f is around or I see something that excites me sexually.  I guess when I feel more whole I let myself act more naturally physically and mentally.  I am sure it's a mental thing mostly and I associate it with people who have lost limbs and feel like they have a ghost limb, except I am the opposite in a sense.

Wow, fun topic.

Guys, putting stuff on your stuff makes it work better:-P  The lack of oxygen makes it more desperate to spring free!

I don't get turned on...packing is just a way to make myself more confident that if someone was indeed profiling me that closely, they wouldn't see any lack of a bulge. I won't get turned on to myself until I have the flat chest I've always dreamed of :(. Oddly enough its not my genitals that bother me as much as not being able to walk around shirtless, if I wanted to. Now a really good binder? That turns me on also.

So we turn this concept around and we have "autoandrophilia", sexual arousal by seeing oneself as male.

My opinion on all this:  I think humans are complex and sexual arousal plays a role in almost anything.
I think that to ascribe anyone's transitioning involuntarily to sexual motivation is trivializing and demeaning.
I think that it does good to be honest to ourselves and take note of when sexual arousal occurs.
It does not invalidate our deeper feelings of dysphoria over gender.

Renate
Thanks Renate. I didn't know of this term until now  :D
As far as your opinion goes, I couldn't agree more. Gender, sex, and sexuality is such a broad spectrum that you really cannot categorize anything. We all fit on this broad spectrum somewhere and our decisions and motivations for doing certain things that are all so complex.

At first, I thought, it was being aroused while carrying a gun,
which I'm sure has happened...     ;D
Makes sense the other way too.

If someone grabs my crotch, or something, when I'm packing I get turned on but, otherwise, not really. It just feels normal.

Lol, yeah I could definitely see that.

Any of you have these feelings at all when you first started packing? It's all fairly new for me so I'm wondering if any of you experienced this at first and maybe you just got used to it and it went away over time.
I don't mind the arousal at all. I'm just curious about what your experience is.

If you're on T, a nicely turned chair leg can get you hot and bothered.

Packing doesn't do it for me. I don't bother doing it often. When I do, it's like Chris said, just something I do. I don't think I felt much of anything when I first started doing it, other than a bit self-conscious in case someone commented.

I am still not certain about what is meant with packing, I don't get aroused packing a suitcase.  ;D

But what I did understand was seeing ourselves as girls makes us sexually aroused and that is the reason why we do the transitioning? "Wow!" well I believe that the final test on what one will be when the time has arrived to bring body and soul together in harmony by way of the surgeon's scalpel, which will literally separates the boys from the girls or visa versa.

Well, all I can say is if I wasn't certain about transitioning to who I desired to be I would not have gone as far as getting my Mickey Mouse chopped off. Anyway, no matter which way one wants to go, and are not certain about.  That is why we have a two-year life experience. It took me 4 years' real life experience before I could afford the surgery, but I stuck doggedly with it, that was what I wanted, to be at peace within myself.

I have reached that goal and I am much, much more happy than I ever was in my life before. I love Cindy and who she represents.  Loving thyself is where the healing begins. My personality and my perspective on how I see things is way different.

I really don't give two and a half screws on how they want to classify us because we already know who we are. Such talk sounds like a primary school class out on a field day.  What should I classify this flower as?  You see, the flower is still a flower no matter which species it belongs to. No mater how many gender variants there are we are still of the same species, that is, humans.

The physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists in the medical community know what's up or down when it comes to analysing transsexuals. At least I was EVALUATED as being transsexual and I was also DIAGNOSED as having GID.

Now I consider myself to be a woman, not much different than any woman out there, I have the same thoughts, emotions and characteristics as they do and I bleed the same color blood. But as for using labels in the forums, I believe they are only used to prevent confusion, and to  differentiate who from what by using labels. I believe that's all they were meant for to begin with.  Seven years ago I never knew just how many gender variants there were for one species named humans.

i pack all the time and i don't get turned on by it, just feels natural to me. But, yeah, may other things can turn me on quite easily.

first time i bound i got a bit excited.  not turned on, but excited.  don't pack yet so i don't know about that.

Packing to me is about added confidence. Trust me, women do look. Always got to be ready for that ;)

One thing I had to consider now is to continue to pack or not after my  surgery that is coming up next month. At first I thought I would since my real bulge will not be as aparent as my current one. But after more consideration on the matter I decided I wont pack after surgery. At least what I will have will be real, and that is by far more important than size.
