It is disappointing that I find out things about the family through Face Book. My sister posted yesterday that my cousin had passed away. There was no information about a funeral.

We weren't really that close, so whether I go or not is not important. Putting it into words is a bit difficult. If going to the funeral of my cousin, most of the people there have never met me. Of those that have met me, it is likely no surprise to them that I would be wearing a skirt. Those are the ones that have already mistaken me for being female, the ones who had seen through the male masquerade.

Then there is the possibility, now that my sister knows that I dress as a female, that she would not want the embarrassment of her brother showing up wearing a dress. The result being, I am not told when the funeral is, or where it is.

That is perfectly understandable. The thing to remember is that funerals are not for the dead; they are for the living. They provide an opportunity to pay tribute and say goodbye to a loved one.

I have not been invited to several family reunions over the decades because of a feud between me and a brother. They were afraid that I might cause a scene, so they invited him and not me. I found out about them years after they passed. No one offered to invite me "next time". And to be honest, my life has not changed in any way by not going.

You are not alone. 🙂

I had been searching the house for my Sims 2 installation disks. I found the original sims disks, I will rename as Sims 1. I found the box with the sims 2 disks in my storage unit. I plan on putting all of them in the new laptop. Only problem is the Sims 1 may have such a small play window.

I had a problem playing the Sims 3 until I realized One Drive was sending my files to the cloud. Apparently, It looks like Windows 11 update turned one drive back on. Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4, stores custom content in my documents folder. I need to remember to backup my Sims files to a folder outside of the documents folder. Windows also thinks my pictures should be stored in the cloud.

I ran into somewhat the same problem with my iPhone. I wanted to transfer my photos to my computer, and discovered they were in iCloud, and could not be transferred. I had to download my photos from the website. ICloud has been disabled in my iPhone.

Backing up my Sims games custom content is one reason to rename the files. In case I backup into the wrong folder.

I have run into similar issues.

In your OneDrive settings, you can specify what gets synced and what doesn't. Since I don't want my photos and app in the cloud, I turned that off. Now all that syncs are my desktop and settings. Then I signed out of OneDrive and never signed back in.

With iCloud Photos, I don't use the Windows photo app, so I have to log into iCloud, select my photos, and download them. Once I have them on my PC, I delete them either from my phone or while in iCloud. There are very few photos I keep on my phone for safety reasons.

I have found that other games will store content and save files in Documents, too. I'm on a desktop PC with three drives, so I use EaseUS Todo Backup to copy my Documents and important folders to the backup hard drive.

Sims 1, original, would not install on Windows 11. The Sims 2 installed, but had to run as administrator. The Sims 2 resized the display, so no problem viewing.
I have an older laptop running Windows XP, with the WiFi turned off. Sims 1 is 16 bit, so the detail is not that great. Installed and running on the XP laptop. The Sims 2 can also go on the XP laptop.
