My grandmother made awesome Minced Meat pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not what you mean, I know. But still. They were SO good.

I have eaten chicken pot pies.  Does that count as a meat pie?

Meat pie as in like shepherds pie, or perhaps chicken pot pie?

Mince meat means different things. It can be sweet, like in a Christmas Pudding, made up of raisins and currants... or savoury like in spaghetti bolognese... made from cow or sheep. Different things with the same name, for whatever weird reason.

I am a massive sucker for steak and kidney. Yes... actual kidney. But hey, you see these fangs? lol. They are my sweet tooth.

<-- part animal.

This is what she made, spiced with cloves.

Mhm. It's why we have Mince pies. It's the same thing. But then you also have lamb or beef mince, which make excellent shepherds or cottage pies. The same word for very different things.

Santa would probably weigh 600lbs if everyone left a shepherds pie out for him, lol.

I used to always have me a steak and kidney pie and chips when ever I could when I lived in England.  I think they are the best, them and the cornish pasties. My grandma used to make a great mince pie 🥧 (hamburg).

That's awesome. My girlfriend lives in Kent. I know it's not the world's best place for people not born in Britain but just ignore the haters.

You need to go up north for the best meat pies though, girl. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a northern lass. It's statistically true. Honest. ;D

I left England many years ago, Back in 74. Although I have visited several times since. I still have family there. I always loved going back there. Things have definitely changed though over the years for sure.

Robby,

I would consider any pie made with meat instead of, let's say fruit, a meat pie.

That's where it gets messy.

Literally don't call anything not made with meat... meat. Words, people!
