Do you enjoy a good grilled cheese sandwich?

I had one made with a croissant and it was way over the top good.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Of course!  How not!  Especially with at least 2 types of cheese using butter or mayo as the frying media.

I tried the mayo, it cooked the sandwich fine, but it turned into shellac on the pan. I cook 'em low and slow, so maybe that has an effect?

Love them with red pesto on both slices of  wholegrain brown bread and mature  cheddar in the toasted  sandwich  maker

My favorite variation of a Grilled Cheese Sandwich is made with
lots of Sharp Cheddar Cheese, a slice of Ham, and a Tomato slice.

I usually have a grilled sandwich with soup, or maybe a side salad.

I don't think I've ever had a pan-made sandwich, the way you folks across the pond make them. But I do have a deep-fill sandwich toaster and it gets a lot of use.

One of the best things I ever made in it was a cheeseburger toastie. Good quality burger, some nice white Cheshire cheese, and a rasher of smoked bacon. Just make sure the burger and bacon are pre-cooked and drained on kitchen paper first. Found that out the hard way, lol. Oh, and using garlic butter on the outside of the slices of bread, to make it crispy and golden, takes it to another level.

Blob of mayo on the plate at the side, for dipping purposes and... yum!

Those are made by the same people who make the center fill sandwich makers for Tesco and Sainsbury's, right?

Not sure. Maybe? I got mine from Amazon. Some of the ones you get can be kind of awful. Really shallow fill to the point you can only get like a handful of baked beans in the middle and the toastie gets smooshed down into basically a large wafer, lol. But some have deep fill plates that let you really pack a ton of filling into them so you can do what you like.

The most well known brand name for them is Breville, and it's become kind of a thing to just call any sandwich toaster a Breville, in the same way we call vacuum cleaners a "Hoover" because it's the most well known brand. But they are kind of unreliable and overly expensive. This is the one I have:
