She certainly is.

Definitely uncomfortable about the whole thing,
Not sure how to deal with it.

The school is supportive,
But a teacher is a teacher.
You know, they make your grades.

They can be a jerk if they want.

'Talked to my student affairs rep (and also a former favorite proffesor[I no longer have his class]) and he suggested documenting any thing that feels wierd, so that if somthing does come up later on down the road, that there is some documentation of it.
The school is defintetly very supportive though.
But a teacher is a teacher..

You definitely have the right attitude in regards to the teachers.  They ultimately make your grades.  Have you ever though/tried just having a talk with her after class Sarah?

(p.s. high school or college?)

I have yes.
She was very uncomfortable.
I told her I would check back with her next week after she consulted staff.
I encouraged her to do so.

College by the way.

If it ever comes down to it, can always just drop the class and take it with another teacher, but hopefully it'll all work out.  Good luck with that.  Sort of weird to see a teacher that cares hehe.

So this was interesting:
I had a class with her the other week and she was a complete 180.
Apperantly she has some family who are Mayo clinic doctors and she went to them for info and accessed their website for more info.
Apparently whereas before she was quite nervous and uncomfortable, now she seems quite ok with it and actually supportive.
She seemed cheerful to have me in the class.
Wow.
I am glad.
It's amazing what a little education can do.

I went to a very rough school......

I wish and really wanted to transition when I was at School but in those days (late 1970's) I would have probably been beaten to a pulp by pupils and teachers alike....
