(Apologies for the MtF / male crossdressing bias here)

How do TS people view folks who crossdress because they 'desire to be more feminine' whether their motivations are fetishistic or otherwise?
How do you feel about people who say "I wish I was a woman" or "I want to learn to be female"

I have certainly met peeps who take offence at the very notion that you can 'become female' simply by wearing certain garments - the usual response being "you're either born mentally female or you're not".

It occurs to me, having spoken with people who are on HRT,  that hormones can and do profoundly affect one's personal/emotional character - something akin to 'allowing the trapped female-self to express herself' (as well as suppressing the 'T poison') . 

Is it so hard to believe that for some people, crossdressing may work, at least on a mental level, in a similar way?

I've a different view of CDrs these days, but let me say this, if clothes is the big thing in ones mind, they're probably not moving on to the TS "stage" -- not that TSrs must go through a CD "stage" to begin with.

If someone needs to own and wear the clothing of the opposite gender, that is one thing.  In my mind, that would be a "pure" crossdresser.  THe fabric and look feel good, and that is the driving force.

If someone needs to own and wear the clothing of the opposite sex because it helps reveal the inner gender, that would be something else totally different.  The fabric and look helps you feel normal.

That's me in a nutshell.
Really I wear the clothing of the my inter gender as often as I can and that not cross dressing to me. Actually I believe I crossdress whenever I'm in men's cloths (remember I'm a MTF).
I just wonder why anyone who doesn't change there gender phyically is consider less than one who does.
I am woman with a man's body and I'm trying to cope, that all. I hurt, I long, I need ........... to be excepted for more than face or ... that is what I look like. It's what I am inside that really matters, right?

It's all just an appearance thing.
What counts is your spirit / soul who you really are that is what matters. The body is just what you are housed in and some of use just don't see the need to remoldel it completely. We just put a fresh coat of paint in it (clothing) and try to live with it. I know that it is not enough for every transgender person ect.. , but in the purest since thats what crossesdressers do.
