The case against a man, accused of kidnapping and molesting a Micanopy store employee, was dropped earlier this month, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office reported.

Officers initially had considered the case a hate crime because the alleged victim is transgender and said two men attacked her, using slurs after they discovered she was anatomically male.
