Parents talk about transgender child's transition

written by: Nelson Garcia , Reporter    9news.com

BOULDER - Karen and Eric Boelts had a tough time at first. They were confused. They felt alone. They had no idea what transgender was all about.

"When Andrea was three, she told us that she was in the wrong body," said Karen Boelts, the child's mother. "And that she was really a boy."

Score one for the Boelts. They are forward thinking parents.
Great story for sure.

I wonder how well I would have handled that revelation from my child at such a tender age. It would have been nice to have spared him so many awkward yrs but it would been so scary to think of making a mistake. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, I now have the benefit of knowing that it would have been the move to make all along.
hhhmmmm,
