I just got finished coming out to my stepchildren, 15 year old twins.  I don't know that I was completely prepared to, but the stress of only being me when they were at their dad's has gotten to be too much.

So I sat them down separately but it went similar for both.  I gave them a little background about GID and told them.  Told them I had dealt with it for years, was going to a therapist and that I was going to be transitioning to female.  Then I let them know that I was there if they had any questions, or they could talk to their mom or one of a couple of people who already knew.  Their responses completely floored me.

Stepson just shook his head with an odd smirk and said "This house just keeps getting stranger."

Stepdaughter's first question was "So are you a guy in a girl's body or a girl in a guy's body?"
