I confess that i hate getting behind in grading lab reports.  (My own fault.)

I confess that I hate this time of year because half of my students will drop about 30 points in their grade average.  Why?  First, they have spring fevor & are mentally already on summer break.  Second, it's the "rutting season" and far too many of my students have their mind on sex instead of their studies.

I confess that i am still waiting for my "regulation-issued" pregnant student this year.  I have had at least one pregnant student per year during my 8-year teaching career.  Two years ago, in the same class, I had 1 student coming back from maternity leave, 1 student going out, 1 student who was pregnant and 1 student who had fathered a child & was in complete denial.

Oh, how I wish it were lab reports instead of endless essay questions!!! I can actually get interested in reading lab reports! (Well, comparatively speaking!)

I confess that in addition to hating it, I'm also terrible at grading (which makes it worse, because being bad at it makes it takes longer). It's so hard for me to concentrate on it. The students deserve better; they're working hard (well, most of them). But these assignments are so hard to grade.

Oh, dear.  I feel unwanted.  I confess I may be 56, but I fit right in with these young kids, texing and all.  I like to do it two handed.
