As a Microsoft multi-millionaire, Weiland could have formed his own foundation, but instead let the Pride Foundation administer his donation. As a former volunteer, donor and board member, he knew first-hand that the Pride Foundation would strategically maximize the effect of his generous bequest, and Pride Foundation would fulfill its mission of connecting, inspiring and strengthening the Northwest LGBT community in pursuit of equality.
