Need advice about a wig

Hi!  I have been looking for a wig, but none of the suppliers seem to have one with a large enough cap.  I measured my head and found it to be 26 1/2 inches.  I have a large forehead, which of all my masculine traits I hate the most.  But, I hope to get a wig with the right bangs to make it less noticable.  Do any of you know how to get one that would fit me?  Or have any of you ever altered a wig cap without ruining the wig?  I am thinking about just buying some of the extensions with the little comb that attaches them, and using them with my already longish hair.  My hairline is receding and my hair has always been very fine, plus I have thin hair on top.  And advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Hi!  Thanks for the suggestion.  I checked out the website but the wigs offered for large are not the style I have been wanting.

I did contact a wig seller about altering the cap, as in doing it myself.  The seller said she thought it was feasible but could not guarantee anything.  So I am going to risk it and hope for the best.  At worst I will be out fifty bucks and have some pretty synthetic hair to hold in my lap and pet.

Have you considered going to a wig shop and getting advice from them.  I bought my wig from a local shop that had been recommended by other members of the local support group.  I went there and told the saleslady that I was a crossdresser interested in a wig to make me look more feminine.  The staff was most helpful and courteous.  The best thing about shopping in person is that you can try on the merchandise before you buy it.  I tried on a half dozen wigs or more and bought one that I am very happy with.  It wasn't cheap--over $100--but it was well worth it.

I had a wig that was about mid shoulder length , but over time it starte to look like Rosana Addana from the old SNL ski in the back.  I recently bought a wig that's cut into a short bob, which falls to just below my ears.  The big plus for this wig is that it is easy to brush through and that the bangs are long.
