Sorry if this has been discussed. For any Ontarioians. What does OHIP cover?

Uhm, hello forum. This is an opened ended questions but I am sure there is one person *cough Stephanie Craxford* That knows the answer.

I have been going over the OHIP websites, I think I have a good base of what is covered, but I could use some reassurances, and maybe the truth opposed to what a government website says.

One of the clearest statements they make is, not comestic surgery. Now SRS is far off, if I even get there, does that count as comestic surgery?

To be honest it doesn't cover very much.  HRT, Dr visits, blood tests, endo visits and associated tests.  Also I'm hoping that it will cover my voice therapy as well.  I'll be checking into that shortly and let you know.  It doesn't cover SRS/GRS although that is presently being challenged in front of the human Rights Commission.  The commission has sided with us but it is up-to the Government now.  Keep your fingers crossed.

It may cover therapy, but I'm not sure as I see my therapist in her private practice so I have to pay cash.

Hope this helps, if you have any specific questions don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks for the info. Saddly its not exactly what I wished to hear, but it was what I was expecting to hear.

You talk about a private therapists, I gather that there is two kinds then, what would be the opposite of a private therapist? I couldn't see it being a group secession or sorts, or is it one that is supported by the Ontario Government?

Thanks,
