Have any of you had experience applying to have your gender recognized through this panel.  As an ex pat living in Canada I plan on doing this as my last step.  Their site can be found here:

Hi Steph,

I applied for and got my GRC in 2005 (and hence new birth certificate) through the GRP.

I had a few problems; Living overseas was difficult for communication (Letters took ages), I had to go back to the UK to get a UK Solicitor to do the Statutory Declaration and then my Physchiatrist refused to provide a letter.

My first application ran out of time, as the GRP admitted they accepted everything (SRS, FFS, Letter from GP,Suporn etc) but you HAVE to provide an official diagnosis from ONE of the approvrd people on their list. In the end I had to Fly to the UK and see another Physchiatrist to get a diagnosis letter.

I actually wrote and complained about the process to the Chairman of the GRP and I know they have made changes.
