Hormones and sex drives

I am fairly new to the site and haven't posted before.
Recently, I started a relationship with a MtF.  Right now, he is still very much a boy but plans on starting hormones soon, which I have no problem with.  He is worried that it is going to completely kill his sex drive and I am just wondering who has had any experience one way or the other, or just some words of wisdom.
Regardless, I am going to care about him but I would like to have some idea of what I am in for.

Everyone is different but for me it just reduced it. It's not
something I think about much anymore but still like to
"participate" when it's offered. Much like a normal female
response I think. For me it was one of the best things about HRT.

He may eventually lose the ability to get or maintain erections and
the process will take a LOT longer and the "event" lasts a lot
longer. All good things

If you are comfortable initiating the process I don't think you will have
a problem at all, but if you want him to chase you, well that may not
happen a lot. Good luck to you, you sound like a great girl friend.

I have been on hormones for nine months now. All I can say is it has affected my sex drive considerably. Erections hardly ever come around anymore. Only if I get really aroused will it work. Ejaculation is also severly smaller in quantity.
You may need to work a little harder to get him aroused, but make no mistake - it will affect that drive a lot....

thanks!!!  i just i just sort of fell in love with the person that he was, before i was even sexually interested. 
i guess i was more concerned about him losing the desire to be touched rather than losing the ability to gain an erection, which i knew was a side effect of the hormones.  that's really an issue anyway.
i just don't want for him to feel comfortable in situations and i know that initiating a discussion about this topic would likely make him highly uncomfortable.

I lost quite bit of my drive some where around 3 to 6 weeks then at 4 months it was pretty much gone since then.

From personal experience I would say my already low sex drive died. Thankfully, and good riddance to it. However the desire for touch and such is still very much here. I believe the short form is to say HRT won't make a robot out of her

I started HRT while together with my ex wife... she encouraged things, and openness...  It becomes more about the play than the final act...  The compassion, the love, the touching and all that good fun stuff.

I have a very strong drive yes... but its a purely female one...  And Once your friend has hit a certian point... and you hit them with the electric butterfly kiss... thats all she wrote...

I think we might be saying the same thing, I still love sex but don't think about it and don't seek it out, but I'm
a very willing participant. But if you mean your chasing sex all the time like a man's drive then know mine is not
like that at all. But like you it is about the togetherness, the touching, the kissing, the love, I don't even need
the final act to feel satisfied.

In fact the last time there was no release, or it was so mild I was not aware, but it was the best sex I've ever had, I think
because it was like one LONG mild orgasm and not one big finale lasting a few seconds.

Anyway, in all respects I much prefer the drive I have now than at any time pre-HRT.

In my experience, my sex drive shifted from being a persistent "urge" or "need," to being something more like a "craving" that seems to come and go in cycles. But my pre-transition sex drive was total mess, being frustrated and conflicted and confused by having a male body and parts.

You may find she wants to be touched MORE as her body changes, as many of us HATE being touched or desired sexually as a male. As our body becomes more female, we can often finally relax and appreciate our OWN bodies, our own sensuality too.

yea, sometimes i slip and use the wrong ones....sometimes it's diffacult because i am one of the only people that identifies her as a girl so it is really important that i consistantly use the correct pronouns, but at the same time i feel like i shouldn't out her to people who don't know....at least in a face to face basis rather than on the internet....but anyway, thank you for catching me on that one.

she hasn't been on hrt for too long, but so far she seems to want to be touched a little bit more.  she was never into what i guess would be called traditional sex, so it's not going to be missing.  i think that i got a little more worked up about all this than i needed to be.  i know that i need to be supportive for her and make sure that she knows i don't mind one way or another so it's hard to discuss things that concern me with her for fear of making her freak out about them too.

Yeah, you're not the only estrogen soaked one on here with a high sex drive. Some estrogen soaked peeps have a very high sex drive. I'm living proof. LOL
