I got crossthreaded here a few days after I joined.  I read the rules but missed an important point.

Anyway, I think I have it down pat now, thanks to Stephanie and Susan's patience, and can try to offer support without placing my foot in my mouth.

My apologies for any gaffes.

I had a cross threaded lug nut on my car a number of years ago (stupid mechanic with a power driver) and it took me three hours with a large hammer and cold chisel (and a great deal of blue language) to get it off so I could change a flat.

(Not really relevant to your post but I couldn't think of how to reply other than this.)
