Ok, time for my own little rant. I am struggling to get a team of surgeons at the same hospital to work together and I am getting frustrated. I want my own penis and I am not going to an established surgeons. I only have coverage for surgeons in province so I am creating my own team. I am planning on having the erectile tissues dissected and brought forward and together (consider this an extensive meta)  I have a specialists in engineered tissue grafting, urology, microsurgery, male genital reconstruction and plastics. I had an oncology/ gynecologist picked out to do the dissection but she doesn't want to do anything outside of cancer. She passed my referral on to another plastics doc to do the dissection. She said it was reasonable to ask this plastics surgeon to dissect the vagina, round ligaments, crura and bulbs. I could be totally off base but how safe is it really to not have a gynecologist in change of this stage of the surgery. Would any of you have a plastics specialist digging around in that area? Isn't a gynecologist the best person to do this? Should I put my foot down and insist that a gynecologist participate and keep looking until I find one or should I be happy with a second plastic surgeon? Well lets hear your opinion. I am not asking for medical advice. I am just trying to see if this uneasy feeling I have is justified or any I just picky.

my opinion, i'd want the best surgeon for the type of surgery i need.  dude its a big surgery if you want a gyno there then wait until you get one.  you're allowed to be picky.  its a big deal.

That feeling is  definitely justifiable.  I too would be overcome with unease of a great extent.  This is an important and delicate surgery.  You will probably have enough to feel anxious about even if you had a gyno on board.  If having a gyno present will ameliorate some of that anxiety, then wait for one.  It is your body, so you should be comfortable with who is working on it.
