Like I've said in another thread I'm big and I've tried a few different kinds of inexpensive binders, none of them are great. The most effective is the ace bandage, but as stated before they roll down and stretch so it's only temporary. Plus if you get it as tight as it needs to be you can't really breathe in them.

I've shelled out a few more dollars and got a back support bandage, it's not inexpensive but it doesn't cost as much as getting a binder shipped from underworks, plus if you're living with people who might go through your packages it's a good alternative. I got it at RiteAid for $30. With some modifications I'm quite pleased. It's more breathable than an ace bandage and compresses better.

Let me know if you want more details on how it's modified.

Hey Osiris how did you "Mod" it then?

Im a C or D cup dont really know I have the Tri Top and its sooo bloody painful it truely is.. it makes me look flatter than my other one from underworks which i dont know what its called.. but still no FLAT I am trying my hardest to find a REALLY good binder that doesn't hurt me and leaves me looking flat. And one I can also wear whilst I swim........

I think I'm an A and I just use an ace bandage or nothing if I'm wearing layers or a button up shirt over a t-shirt and undershirt.

I use a 6" bandage, keep one loop that fits around me always safety pinned as a base layer that I just pull over my head, and then wrap the rest over that layer, and push the lumps underneath off to the side and up.  Then wear an undershirt and t-shirt usually.  It works okay.

I haven't had much luck with binders.  :(

I bought a tri-top M, and it's so tight I can't even get it on.

So I bought another one from underworks, a Large, and it's too big, the neck is way too far up my neck, the sleeve openings are too large I'm squishing out the sides, and it 's so long it would cover my entire butt if I pulled it down all the way.  I've used my measurements so I'm not sure why I can't get the things to fit right.  I want to get a good one before summer so I can swim.  I found some nice trunks and a rash guard swim shirt (speedo) on Amazon.

Does anyone have any thoughts on sizes?

Here's the product I got-

It's called Ace Lumbar Support. You'll find it with other braces.

Once you get the package all you have to do is cut off all the crap that isn't needed. There are six rigid sticks for back support, you can cut those out. There are two adjustable straps with velcro, cut those off. I cut into the bottom of the back to help make it more comfortable since it sits up higher on your body than it was originally designed to.

The front of the brace is still the front, don't put it on backwards cause it won't fit right and will make you look like you're wearing a corset. Putting the binder on is pretty easy to do since it closes with velcro in the front. To get it super flat just lay on your back while putting it on.

Hey Osiris, that looks like a good idea.  How much did that thing cost you?
  •

It was around $30 at riteaid. Like I said it's not cheap but it'll cost less than getting a binder shipped.

that's pretty much how binders work if you're not straight up and down.  they're meant for bio guys.  No binder is gonna be 100% perfect, you have to pick and choose your battles.  Sometimes i double up binders especially if i use my older one.  That can help on the squishing out.

I just tried the $6 Walmart neoprene waist slimmer.  It looks as if it might hold some promise for taming my D's, but it tore the first time I put it on.   >:(  I also tried the control top pantyhose method, but I found it didn't do much more than a sports bra does, so clearly it's not a good choice for the larger among us.  Fortunately, I got the hose for free, so I didn't waste more than a little time on them.   :)  I ordered the muscle shirt from Underworks a while back, but while it was better than nothing, it didn't do a great job either (though it made my stomach look a bit trimmer.  ;D)  So it's going back, and I'm going to try the tri-top instead.  And the search continues...

Hey, Osiris!

Thanks for that tip!  I found a black one at Walgreens, no extra straps, but it's more comfortable than the stupid sports bra I was wearing and binds perfectly!  I wore it to sleep in and it was comfortable and didn't hurt or anything.  I wish I could find a white one that would hide under a tee shirt better (mine is black) but I'll keep looking.

I use a vest from T-kingdom with like a zipper up the front (dont think i have any pics unfortunately). It grows rather comfortable and I even forget I'm wearing it sometimes (once i get used to the different breathing that comes with having extra pressure on your rib cage). However, it IS really tight (naturally) and thus when I wear it from 6AM to 5:30 PM it tends to grow painful and the seams dig into my sides and leave red marks. I have bruises on chest sides from it. i guess with beauty comes pain *shrug*.

(I'm a B by the way).

Another binder update:  The lumbar support from Walgreens is black, soft, and velcroes in the front (Ace Brand; it says Ace on the front by the velcro).  I've worn it two days straight and it is awesome!  It's comfortable, doesn't cut in (the edges are finished).

I wanted something white, so I went to CVS and they had a white lumbar support.  I bought it.  It's thinner, which may feel better in the summer, but the edges are rougher and it seems like it won't be as comfortable. I took it off in favor of the Walgreen's one.  It may work just fine if you are a skinny guy body-wise.

Both were right around $30.

Happy binding!!!

I have found that if you use a leather dressy belt (one of those 3cm reversible ones with the brown on one side and the black on the other and you can twist the buckle depending on what color you want)on your waist under your pants with the double panel compression top from underworks, it  stops it from rolling up to your armpits :D

I would say the medium is a good size for you, it just REALLY takes work getting on the first few times.

Try putting it on through the feet and pulling it up.  I have the tri-top and that works for me.  I squeeze in to a small. Now that I have worn it out a bit it's much easier.  So yeah, try pulling it up.  Another tip : if you plan on getting top surgery one day, push your breasts up and bind upward. That way, they will retain elasticity and not sag.

I used to use ace bandage, but I got tired of it falling down or the safety pins coming undone and stabbing me. I'm purdy small, so I just layer wifebeaters, undershirts, t-shirts and button up shirts or polos. It sucks a left nut in summer though, I sweat my a$$ off!

When I was younger (and smaller) I solved that problem with ace bandages by sewing the first bit into a loop, then adding hook and eye fasteners where I wanted it to come together at the end.  It actually worked reasonably well, at least for short term.

Finally mentioned this to my Mum.
Her response was: Do you want cancer in 10 years time because of the binding?
Doh.

If someone said this to me, my response would have been if that is the only way to get rid of them then yes. In fact I got my surgery because of "intense fear of cancer". Reality, I know of no study connecting the two but we are a really small group.

I do the same thing, only with safety pins instead of sewing and fastners.  It definitely works better than the usual way of doing ace bandages.

I took my binder off yesterday and noticed some very gnarly bruises ><
