I totally won't flaunt my 2 inch heel ankle boots that don't even look like they have a heel in them that fit perfectly and look awesome with petite legged slacks or jeans.

Hello everyone, I am a newbie and I am enjoying my visits here. Here is my problem, I bought a pair of size 11 sliders at Target the other day and the right foot fits perfectly. When I put the left one on it was very difficult to get on and when I did it was very tight. It appears my left foot is slightly larger that the right. I think this goes way back to a sports injury I had on this foot in high school and I am stuck with the two different size feet.

Does anyone else have a similar problem like this and what do you do about it? I am worried if I go up a size the right one will be too loose and present problems.

Also, one of the posts mentioned Clogs. I use to wear my wife's and loved them. I haven't seen them in any stores lately would like to get a pair. I am not talking about the cheap rubber ones you see everywhere with the holes in them.

Anyone know where you can buy a good pair?

The only person I ever knew who had 2 different size feet did buy the same shoe in 2 sizes and wore one of each pair. It sounded way too expensive to me but she said it was better than trying to wear the same sized shoes and always having one not fit.

As to clogs: you can find them on line in many sizes. Try http://www.zappos.com. They pay shipping and return shipping and they are very nice to deal with.

I once read that women's shoes in general about about 2 (US) sizes smaller than men's shoes. So, If I wear size 10 in men's it would be somewhat equivalent to a size 12 in women's.

Does this sound right?

Depends on the shoe. I wear 6.5 mens but today I went to payless and ended up with a pair of womens running shoes that were 8.5. It depends on who makes them. I have some heels that are 7.5 and some that are  8 and 8.5. As a general rule its 1.5 to two times bigger in size but again....Different makers make shoes in different sizes where one manufactures 8 will be somebodies elses 7.5 or another manufactures 8.5.

now I wear size 9-9.5 in women's shoes.
It depends on shoes, many women's shoes are
made to be worn tight (like heels,
they'll slip off if they're too loose), while
more casual shoes, especially laced shoes,
are worn with a bit more space.

I picked up these the other day, the first sandals I've worn since I was a tiny child. I like them quite a bit, and it only took two days to get up to 90% or so as fast walking in them as I do in regular shoes (they have a 2.5 inch heel on them.) And my walking speed is a jog for most people.  > The heel is a little more obvious than I'd prefer but oh well.

Pity that they're a little bit loose because of the design of the velcro strap, and it doesn't let me tighten them more, need to fix that somehow.

I got 8.5, and the actual shoe itself fits perfectly. I think I'm lucky :v

Are you sure they're 2.5 inchers, they don't look that high, more like 1.75 - 2 inch.

Heh, yes. They're a lot higher than they look. They're as high as my pinky through index fingers, and according to the online ruler at eden's fantasies ( >) 2.5. At least at the back of the shoe, do you measure at some point below the highest? Since I've not really had shoes with heels before.

2.5 inch heels actually don't make you 2.5 inch taller, but that's how they're measured anyway.
2.5 inch probably make you 2 inch taller.

There is a diminishing return to heel vs rise.

4.5 inch heels make you at  most 3.25 inch taller, if that (depends on length of the shoe).

So huh, it's not actually the size of the heel that's measured?

They measure the heels from the back of the shoe,
but your heel is not resting there, its actually resting down the incline.
The steeper the incline, the farther down from it the heel is actually resting,
not to mention the foot slipping towards the front due to gravity
and the pressure of walking and deformation of the shoe
from constant toe pressure
on the front of the shoe (that's where bunions come from),
which means the heel of the foot rests even lower.
