Utopian Transition

Mine is a modern Cinderella story. Once upon a time, an average American housewife ~ under-appreciated, overworked, but living affluently in a three bedroom house with two adorable little girls, a Lexus in the driveway and a spouse on the way up in IT during the dot.com booming '90s. Laundry, Winnie The Pooh, dinner served at six, for almost a decade I was the quintessential soccer mom ~ including a punitive divorce settlement that left me facing a mercenary labor market at the bewildered age of 48. Nothing exceptional, or magical, there ~ except all my life, starting with my parents, everyone I ever met thought I was male.
