A recurring problem is that GLBTers tend to be grouped together and up being considered one-and-the-same. Certainly when a controversy sparks up with one section (especially a poorly understood section -- GLB has tended to hold the spotlight a bit and *sometimes* garner some respect, whereas Ts are prone to get trampled on and mocked by pop culture in the rare event they are discussed), the others are prone to freaking out for the sake of defending themselves. Indeed, there's an understandable temptation to play by the rules of the oppressors in order to save one's own skin, but it's not a sustainable strategy.
