Well, I turn 18 in 4 1/2 months and the first thing I'm doing is changing my name. The only problem is, I can't decide on a name. I've gone by Matt since transitioning and still do, and at work I'd probably continue to go by Matt on my name tag to avoid confusion. I'd probably still allow my friends I've known all this time to continue calling me Matt. But I've thought about it and Matt isn't the name I want for life, it was just a transitional working name.

Background Info: I'm half polish, hence the odd names and spellings. Kasper was listed as polish, as was Kaz, Jarek, and others. I considered Jarek but decided it didn't sound much like me. My last name is pretty obviously polish and I'd like to continue to reflect my heritage in my choice of name. That, and I'd like to have a unique name which reflects my unique personality. I think Kasper suits me (if only you knew me). My ideal choice doesn't have to have a polish origin...but I'd like it to be unique.

Also if you know of any unique names you think I'd like based on what I've already selected, please include any suggestions in a reply.

-the unnamed zombie (Ps for now I'm going by Kasper)

I LOVE the name Kasper! I named a beloved character that in a novel I've been working on for ages but never ever seem to finish. I LOVE the name.
Perfect. You should definitely be Kasper.

Oh don't know enough about you really, but my Kasper is wild yet reserved and traditional. Both hero and villian. Both normal and abnormal. Beautiful.

I would make sure whatever name you choose means something to you. Don't just pick a name because you think it sounds cool. Make sure it means something. I chose my name because it is my moms favorite boys name. To me it is just as important for my parents to be involved in this step of my life, as they were in the one that got me into this world and to where i am today. That is why i chose my name, and that is why it means a lot to me. So i really do think it is important to pick something that means a lot to you, because that way you will not regret it 5 years from now.

Well, Kasper means something to me. I was drawn to it, don't ask me to explain how though haha. I would've been named Lance by my mom but I prefer to leave her in my past...and I don't like the name Lance anyhow. Kasper seems to me like a wild, intense, character...which describes me to a T. I'm pretty certain in including that in my name, I'm just not sure on the middle. Kasper Riley seems to flow nicely, Jason was a name I always liked as a kid, and Jarod just sounded good to me. So, I duno.

Kasper is a good name.  Taking a name that matches your ethnicity can be very important, especially if you have great pride in it or if there is something that gives you away as being of that certain heritage.  For example I am Greek, so I have selected Thanatos O. S. <Greek last name> for when I get my name changed because I love my heritage and also because the second I open my mouth, people ask me what country I am from due to my accent.  Sometimes an ethnic name is best, even if it sounds strange.

I voted Kasper Riley.

I voted for Jarod, because whenever I hear Kasper I always think of the ghost, and Jarod seemed like a slightly better quality name than Jason.

Lol but I am a friendly ghost :O As I said if only you knew me ;-)

Kasper Riley D.

Because when you say it, the R's almost invite you to continue after the first name and roll right into the next (or something like that).  Kasper Riley

Kasper Riley I went for, made me think of Kaspar Hauser though.

of the ones up there i'd say Kasper Riley rolls off the tongue better.  But I'm gonna pick other 'cause i don't seriously think i've ever met an 18 year old Kasper.  I like more traditional names anyway.

But its your name, don't let anyone choose for you.

kasper hauser is a mystery.

turned up in a town in germany (dresden i think) with poor memory, below average skills and vague stories of being incarcerated. Quickly he learnt to read an d write, draw, and became a skilled at intelligent young man.
People said he invented hos story to get out of his station in life and move up, that he was a fraud. Others said he was an heir hidden away so someone could take a position of wealth. Nobody knew. He insisted he had not made it up.
Someone attacked him, people said he had done it to himself...then i think he was attacked again and died.

still a mystery.
