Dispute stalls bill banning bias over sexual orientation

Deutch and those who support his version don't understand the
importance of including gender identity, Pollitzer said.

"The reality is that this bill has a fatal flaw," he said. "A bill
that does not include gender identity or expression abandons
completely the transgender community, and we have to learn the lessons
of history — that it is never OK to leave a portion of our community
behind out of fear and call it practicality."
